Advancing care in pregnancy through research and education

The Foundation for SMFM advances pregnancy care and knowledge by funding research, education, and mentoring programs for physicians. All Foundation awards and programs are available exclusively to members of the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine.

Committee applications are now being accepted for terms beginning in 2027. Please review the application for a description of responsibilities, terms, and the nomination form. Applicants must be SMFM members in good standing. Members may apply for more than one committee, and self-nominations are permitted.

The Foundation relies on the leadership, insight, and support of its Board of Directors and volunteer committee members. To support its mission and reflect its ongoing commitment to transparency and inclusion, the Foundation holds an open call for Board nominations. The Foundation currently seeks candidates for up to five (5) at-large positions on its Board of Directors for a three-year term beginning March 1, 2027.
