At LibertyCon Africa 2026, the panel “Advancing Liberty Through Writing in the Digital Age” explored one core question: how do ideas win in a world driven by speed, screens, and shifting narratives?

The conversation brought together African Liberty Writing Fellowship alumni Angela Halubobya and Anna Suberu, with ASFL leader Oluwatosin Adojutelegan and ASFL alum Andrew Munganga moderating.

Together, they unpacked how writing shapes influence in the digital age—how compelling narratives and clear communication don’t just reflect change, but actively drive it.

In a world saturated with information, storytelling becomes strategy. Ideas become leverage. And thoughtful writing becomes a force that challenges assumptions and moves people toward action.

Mounir Ghaout saw a challenge facing Morocco and the wider MENA region: too few spaces where young people could engage with the ideas of liberty, leadership, and opportunity.

As a student, he helped build Students For Liberty Morocco, creating a platform for young leaders to explore classical liberal ideas, develop their skills, and drive change in their communities.

What started with campus organizing evolved into something much bigger. Today, Mounir continues to build bridges across borders through entrepreneurship, connecting people, ideas, and opportunities between the MENA region and the United Kingdom.

For Mounir, student leadership wasn’t just about organizing events.

It was about empowering the next generation and creating pathways for freedom, opportunity, and growth.

The Kigali Alumni Networking Meetup brought together entrepreneurs, advocates, and young professionals.
Throughout the evening, alumni reconnected, shared what they’re building, reflected on their journeys after SFL, and exchanged ideas on careers, entrepreneurship, mentorship, and community impact.

What made the evening special was the energy in the room: conversations sparked new ideas, potential collaborations, and stronger connections.

Because the SFL journey does not end after a program, it grows into friendships, partnerships, and communities that keep building long after.

✨SFL Alum, Oluwadamilola Adepoju is working with the next generation of innovators and changemakers.

🚀 At LibertyCon Africa 2026, through the session, Women in Tech – Breaking Glass Ceilings, Oluwadamilola facilitated an inspiring session focused on challenging barriers, amplifying women’s voices, and creating pathways for greater inclusion and leadership in the tech space.

The discussion encouraged participants to rethink limitations and embrace the opportunities that emerge when talent, resilience, and innovation intersect.

Through her journey with Students For Liberty, Oluwadamilola brings experience in leadership, advocacy, and empowering emerging leaders to challenge the status quo. Her work continues to inspire young people to pursue impact-driven careers and create spaces where more women can thrive and lead.

Walter Pereira realized something early: freedom means little if people are locked out of the financial system.

Growing up in Brazil, he saw how access to credit, payments, and opportunity could change the course of a person’s life and how millions were still excluded from it.

At Students For Liberty Brazil, Walter transformed economic ideas into action, building the foundation for his work across fintech, financial inclusion, and institutional reform.

Today, he works with fintechs, policymakers, and development institutions across Latin America and beyond to expand economic participation and build systems that create opportunity.

Student activism was the starting point.
Building the infrastructure of economic freedom became the mission.
