Join the DC Liberation Center to honor the legacy of Dolly Parton, a progressive cultural icon that used her fame to further the rights of women, LGBTQ people, and poor and working people.

9 to 5 tells the story of three working women (played by Fonda, Tomlin, and Parton) who live out their fantasies of getting even with and overthrowing their company’s autocratic, “sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot” vice president

One year on, and Donald Trump’s occupation of Washington D.C. has been a total disaster. Billions in taxpayer money have been used to create a state of terror and violence on working-class and immigrant communities. Out-of-state governors, Republican and Democrat, have assisted in Trump’s deployment with their national guard, attacking the home rule of the District.

The people of Washington, D.C. have resisted these attacks: by defending our neighbors from federal agents, speaking out against racist policies of the White House and Congress, and taking to the streets to demand no business as usual. On the year anniversary, let’s demand a D.C. that is for its residents — not a stage for Trump and the right-wing!
