In 2023, Newark Beth Israel Medical Center recorded 23 central line-associated bloodstream infections. By the end of 2024, the hospital had reduced that number by 80%.

That progress earned Newark Beth Israel the top-scoring hospital poster at Leapfrog’s 2025 Annual Meeting (now the Annual Patient Safety Summit & Awards Gala) and reflects the kind of continuous improvement the Leapfrog Hospital Survey is designed to support.

This week, our President and CEO Leah Binder joined health care leaders at the 2026 CenTrak Exchange in Salt Lake City, Utah, to discuss safety and transparency in ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs).

During her presentation, Leah highlighted Leapfrog's efforts to advance transparency in outpatient surgery, sharing insights from the ASC Public Reporting Program and opportunities to strengthen patient safety as more procedures move to outpatient settings.
