Incredible win on the countering transnational cybercrime front!

Congratulations to Dan Berte, our DC Cyber Task Force member, and his Bitdefender colleagues for partnering in the largest-ever operation against botnets — which play a major role in the deployment of ransomware.

The operation, initiated and led by France, Germany and the Netherlands was also supported by Eurojust and involved Denmark, the United Kingdom and the United States.

In addition, Romania, Armenia, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Portugal, Switzerland and Ukraine also supported the operation with different actions, such as arrests, interviewing suspects, searches, and seizures or takedowns of servers and domains.

She was recognized with the 2023 ISACA Inspirational Leadership Award for her inspiring work, education, mentorship and guidance to advance current and future generations of technologists, and her advocacy for women worldwide.

🇺🇸🇷🇴 In Washington D.C., President Dorin Munteanu welcomed Rector Daniel David of Universitatea Babeş-Bolyai (UBB) , 🇷🇴 Romania’s largest and one of 🇪🇺 EU’s leading and institutions. Headquartered in Cluj-Napoca, the heart of Transylvania, UBB’s are remarkable for being offered in five languages (Romanian, Hungarian, German, English and French).

The two leaders exchanged ideas about current state of the 🇺🇸US- 🇷🇴Romania cooperation, a crux pillar of the bilateral .

The DC2TF was well represented at the thought-provoking debate organized by Romanians of DC titled “Romania – U. S. Strategic Partnership: Perspectives, Ambitions, Horizon 2030.” The debate featured esteemed guest speaker Mircea Geoana, Deputy Secretary General of NATO, and a friend of the DC2TF, who spoke about the many aspects of 's importance in an ever-changing digital world where even wars can start and be carried virtually.
