Improve The Dream

Improve The Dream All children who grow up in the United States should have a clear path to citizenship.

Improve The Dream is led by young immigrants who have grown up in the United States as child dependents of long-term visa holders without a path to citizenship.

This Mother’s Day, we’re sharing the story of Julie — a former child of long-term visa holders who is now raising children of her own in the United States.

Growing up, Julie lived with the uncertainty, limitations, and anxiety that so many immigrant children know too well. Today, even as a mother and now a citizen, those experiences still shape the way she thinks about family, belonging, and security.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the immigrant mothers and families carrying these stories every day!

Our advocacy goes out of this world.

On a prior Improve The Dream advocacy trip, some of us had an opportunity to meet the NASA astronauts who were part of the Artemis 2 mission. We are glad to see them successfully complete their mission and return to Earth.

According to our survey of children of long-term visa holders, at least 87% of our population pursue STEM fields, and we hope that many of us can stay in America and continue to contribute to advancements on the next frontier.

Join us in celebrating the physicians, residents, and medical students in the ITD community 🩺!

This Doctor’s Day, we would love to spotlight Merry, Anagh, and Kartik. Their journeys reflect a deep commitment to medicine and service for their communities, especially as dependent visa holders, where the already challenging path of medicine is confounded with uncertainty. Their resilience in the face of barriers is not only powerful but also deeply inspiring.

Today, we honor their dedication, their courage, and the impact they are already making.

Happy Doctor’s Day 💙🤍!

Join us in celebrating the physicians, residents, and medical students in the ITD community 🩺!

This Doctor’s Day, we would love to spotlight Merry, Anagh, and Kartik. Their journeys reflect a deep commitment to medicine and service for their communities, especially as documented dreamers, where the already challenging path of medicine is confounded with uncertainty. Their resilience in the face of barriers is not only powerful but also deeply inspiring.

Today, we honor their dedication, their courage, and the impact they are already making.

Happy Doctor’s Day 💙!

Improve The Dream is planning a national and week-long advocacy trip for children of long-term visa holders! Link to register is in our bio. The form is due Friday, April 26th, at 11:59 PM PST.

We hope this week will provide an opportunity to connect with others in our community and equip everyone with the tools and skills needed to advocate.

Each and every member of Improve The Dream will have the opportunity to tell their stories and learn how to advocate for our issue. We’ll be meeting with representatives on the Hill, team-building, sightseeing, eating great food, and taking this opportunity to strengthen our community in person through various group outings and activities. During last year’s advocacy week, we had the opportunity to bring together nearly 50 individuals from across the country for a week consisting of dozens of congressional and administrative meetings, along with other activities.

Sign up to join us from June 22-25, 2026 in Washington D.C. for our fifth annual national advocacy week! Additional information, including a final registration form, will be emailed to you after filling out this interest form. If you have any additional questions, please email [email protected].
