This is Paph. Via Rio Vista ‘Diane’ AM/AOS awarded in 1978. It is a cross of Winston Churchill x Sea Cliff registered in 1977 by Gallup & Stribling. I wasn’t very impressed when it opened because it seems a bit small and is cupped. I looked up the award description and found that the flower was 15-20% larger at the time it was awarded, and it looks flatter. This is a good lesson in how the amount of vegetative growth can significantly affect flower quality in paphs. My plant is a single growth with a small new growth starting. I’m pretty confident that it will look more deserving of its award as it gains size for future blooming.
