United Jewish Teachers has released its report on antisemitism in New York City Public Schools, tracking incidents from October 2023 through July 2026.
Nearly two-thirds were direct acts — harassment, vandalism, physical threats, assaults, and hate symbols including swastikas. Almost a quarter involved biased curriculum and instructional materials.
Brooklyn saw the largest share at 36.8%. But no borough was untouched.
The report’s central finding is about response, not just incidents: many documented cases saw little or no meaningful follow-through from school leadership. That is how a pattern becomes a condition.
UJT is asking NYCPS for eight specific things — starting with adopting the IHRA definition of antisemitism, referring hate graffiti to the NYPD, and publishing incident data openly.
