For those who don't know, AMPHIFA/amphibians against fascism became a thing in October 2025, after an ICEtapo agent pepper sprayed Seth Todd, directly in the air vent of his frog costume, while he was protesting at a facility in Portland, Oregon. People around the nation starting wearing inflatables, in solidarity - to juxtapose how heavy handed the government, highly militarized was being to mostly peaceful protesters.
It became a thing and quickly spread to No Kings 2, which was held on October 28th. Shortly thereafter folks created a Portland Frog Brigade, which was a form of resistance meant to both have fun and make the other side look stupid, if met with state sponsored violence. It's said fascists don't like being made fun of, and that Joy is resistance. Amphibians against fascism covers both in one suit. The plan by Steve Bannon and others is to bombard and overwhelm us with cruelty and overstimulation. It's working, as many of us in the movement are depressed AF, but being part of the tactical frivolity is also working to counter that feeling of hopelessness.
