Join us for our first ACP conversation! The group for this will be the library's board! In this we will go over our regular agenda and invite our community to come and talk about the community and why it matters to them! All ages welcome! Come and support the library but also the community! We appreciate the American Conversation Project for allowing us this oppurtunity! Each conversation gets us closer to our goal of building a better community and getting the funding for our library! 🎉

Five incredible opportunities to come together for conversation in your community. Thank you Columbus-Lowndes Public Library System!

🎙️ What does Columbus mean to you? We'd love to hear your story.

The Columbus-Lowndes Public Library is partnering with the American Conversation Project to collect the stories, memories, and perspectives that make our community unique.

By participating, your conversation will become part of a national collection of Americans sharing what their hometowns and communities mean to them. Conversations will be audio recorded, and you can even participate without using your real name if you prefer.

📍 All conversations take place at the Downtown Public Library.

• Wednesday, August 5 | 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

We're grateful to the Knight Foundation for investing in the American Conversation Project and, more importantly, in the power of local communities to bring people together.

This support will help expand opportunities for organizations across Knight communities to host conversations that strengthen connection, elevate community voices, and contribute to a richer understanding of the American experience.

If your organization serves a Knight community, we'd love to connect. Learn more in this post: https://ncoc.org/join-a-growing-network-of-local-organizations-strengthening-civic-connection/

Imagining a better future doesn't mean ignoring today's challenges. It means making space to consider what's possible — and the people, choices, and moments that can bring us closer together.

What does courageous citizenship look like in practice?

At the Braver Angels 2026 National Convention, it looked like people showing up to build trust across differences—through skill-building, conversation, and collective action.

As a launch partner of the American Conversation Project, Braver Angels continues to model what this work can look like. ACP Program Director Rubén Álvarez Silva connected with Daniel J. Carnese and Braver Angels staff and volunteers.
