While 4 year old My'Onna Hinton's mom was working to provide for her, My’Onna was being watched by her grandmother. While her grandmother was using the restroom 4 year old My’Onna followed her 7 year old relative Tee to a neighboring apartment. There the 9 year old resident showed off a gun he found in a dresser drawer. Tee thought the gun was fake and accidentally shot 4 year old My’Onna.
The gun belonged to a houseguest who was outside at the time, Juwan T. Ford. When the 7 year old went to get help Ford was the first to respond. Ford grabbed the gun, wrapped it in a tshirt to hide it, and left My'onna to die with no adults around to help her. Ford’s only concern was to dispose of his illegal weapon before police arrived.
The good news in this story is that thanks to the heroic efforts of medics and doctors My'onna survived, but she is now confined to a wheel chair requiring expensive medical care. Treatments such as epidural stimulation might help her walk again but she needs your help to get the treatment she needs and for other expensive medical care she requires.
Please donate to this gofundme campaign to give My'onna the chance to recover and get the support she needs. You can make a huge difference in this child’s life.
