Our hearts are with the family and loved ones of Jessica Bang, the 18-year-old rising South Korean & Australian golf star who died after suffering a brain hemorrhage while in Thailand.

News like this travels quickly. For families who have experienced a brain hemorrhage—and for survivors and loved ones in our own community—stories like Jessica's can land especially hard.

At this time, we do not know what caused Jessica's hemorrhage, and we will not speculate.

We simply want her family, her friends, the golf community, and everyone grieving this extraordinary young woman to know that people around the world are thinking of them.

Jessica was only 18. She had already accomplished so much, and by every account, she had so much ahead of her.

Today, we remember Jessica Bang and hold close all those who loved her.

This TBF Advocacy Day, we came together on Capitol Hill to advocate for Ellie’s Law (H.R. 2678 / S. 1609), critical bipartisan legislation that would provide dedicated federal funding for brain aneurysm research.

This past Wednesday, the Matthew Friedman Memorial Foundation was honored to join advocates from across the country in Washington, D.C. for The Bee Foundation Advocacy Day.

Together, we met with members of Congress and their staff to advocate for Ellie’s Law and the critical need for increased federal funding for brain aneurysm research, education, and awareness.

A sincere thank you to the offices of Representative Bonnie Watson Coleman, Rep Josh Gottheimer, Senator Cory Booker, Congresswoman Yvette Clarke, Frank Pallone Jr., Rep. Rob Menendez, Congressman Herb Conaway, MD and the many other congressional offices who took the time to meet with us. We appreciate your willingness to listen, learn, and support efforts to improve outcomes for the millions of individuals and families affected by brain aneurysms.

Special Thank you to Representative Bonnie Watson Coleman for signing on this week to Co-Sponsor Ellie’s law.

We look forward to returning to Washington, D.C. to continue building momentum for Ellie’s Law and advancing our mission to save lives through awareness, research, and education. 🧠

Impact Day 2026! 🚑

For the 2nd year in a row, Marlboro EMS is proud to partner with Deloitte and the Matthew Friedman Memorial Foundation to over 70 community members with free CPR training, helping equip more people with the skills and confidence to respond in an emergency.

Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, and helped make this event possible. It was inspiring to see so many members of our community come together to learn lifesaving skills.

We’re grateful for another successful year and look forward to continuing this tradition next year!
