These ITU Trainings are designed to help IHS, Tribal, and Urban Indian programs boost access to Medicare, Medicaid, Marketplace, and Social Security resources and allow program staff to engage directly with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

Join the National Indian Health Board (NIHB) for Community in Health: A Networking Reception with NIHB on June 16 at 6:30 p.m. CT during the NCAI Mid Year Convention & Marketplace at the Renasant Convention Center in Memphis, Tennessee. This special reception will bring together Tribal leaders, Tribal health partners, and allies for an evening of connection, conversation, and relationship-building.

Tribal health is rooted in community, sovereignty, culture, and the strength of relationships. This reception offers an opportunity to connect with NIHB and partners working to advance the health and well-being of American Indian and Alaska Native peoples through Tribally led solutions, stronger public health systems, and a shared commitment to healthier futures.

On Monday, June 1, the White House nominated Mark Cruz (Klamath) to serve as the Director of the Indian Health Service. If confirmed by the Senate, Cruz would become IHS’s first permanent director since January 2025. He currently serves as the first Tribal Senior Advisor to the Secretary of Health and Human Services, and has played a key role in advancing Tribal health priorities at the federal level.
