Serving families in the DMV area has been one of the great joys of our work. From the very beginning, our heart has been to make sure foster, adoptive, and kinship families feel seen, surrounded, and supported—and that remains true.
As we look ahead, we’re making a thoughtful shift in how we serve in this region so we can focus our energy on fewer programs and sustain them with excellence and consistency. While some programs will be coming to a close, others will continue, and our mission has not changed.
This decision was made with care and deep gratitude for the families, volunteers, and partners who have made this work possible. We remain committed to walking alongside families and stewarding our resources in a way that allows us to serve well—both now and for years to come.
