World leaders and UN member states have a moral responsibility to recognize gender apartheid in Afghanistan and hold the Taliban responsible for its crimes against humanity. All the evidence is there. Young Afghan women shouldn’t have to conduct hunger strikes, to the brink of death, to call the world's attention to their plight. We applaud Tamana’s brave and selfless decision.
