Anc 8a01: Commissioner Tonya Crawford Commissioner Crawford is a native Washingtonian and longtime resident of Washington D.C.'s Ward 8 Fairlawn neighborhood. Daughter of the late Mr.

Earl Banks and Mrs. Betty Crawford, Tonya comes from a long line of dedicated community leaders and freedom fighters. A former Adjunct Professor of Business at the University of the District of Columbia, Tonya has worked in both non-profit and federal/local government sectors. A returned Peace Corps volunteer, Commissioner Crawford brings a solid foundation of activism and structure. She identifie

d education, drug abuse prevention, and police/community relations as the greatest priorities for the 8A01 district. Commissioner Crawford has both empathy and appreciation for all that her community and district bestows; finding it a duty and honor to serve her first term as ANC 8A01 commissioner.
