At The The h3 Project , we believe everyone deserves to be treated with dignity, compassion, and understanding. Behind every person experiencing homelessness is a human being with a story, challenges, and hope for a better future.

Homelessness isn’t solved by judgment. It takes compassion, connection, and a community willing to come together. When we meet people where they are, listen without judgment, and offer a hand up instead of a handout, we can make a real difference.

Together, we can build a community where everyone has the opportunity to find home, health, and happiness💛🖤

A heartfelt thank-you to everyone who helped make our fifth annual Brush Away the Stigma: Making an Impact on D.C.’s Opioid Crisis event such an incredible success. Held on August 26 in front of Union Station, the event once again brought our community together in support of an important cause—and it was truly amazing to see so many people united in the effort to address the opioid crisis.

We apologize that the photos took so long to get up- but we’re excited to finally share them! As more come in, we’ll continue adding them here. If you attended and would like to share your photos, please feel free to post them as well.

Synergy is a therapy pig in training who has become a pretty incredible part of our outreach efforts. She has a way of breaking down barriers and starting conversations — because, let’s be honest, most people haven’t had the chance to meet, let alone TOUCH, a pig!🐷

But those conversations go far beyond Synergy. They open the door to talk about The h3 Project, our mission, and why we show up for people where they are. Whether it’s someone experiencing homelessness, a community member, or someone who simply stopped to say hello to a pig, Synergy creates connections that can lead to people wanting to volunteer, donate, get involved, and help us continue this work.

A HUGE thank you to CBS News for shining a light on Synergy and the work of The h3 Project — and especially to Photojournalist Parrish Smith for taking the time to get to know us, understand what we do, and create such an incredible piece. We truly appreciate the time, care, and heart that went into telling our story. ❤️

😂 Okay… we know. It’s been a minute! Our bad!

But in our defense… we’ve been BUSY! Also, we blame Synergy 🐽👀💜

The Courage Project honors everyday acts of bravery—the quiet, often unseen acts of heroism that strengthen our communities and reflect the best of the American spirit.

Ami’s, along with her staffs courage has always been about showing up, meeting people where they are, building trust, and refusing to give up on someone simply because their circumstances are difficult.

As part of the award, Ami was given the opportunity to designate a nonprofit to receive the funds—and she chose The h3 Project💛🖤

Those funds will go directly toward supporting our clients and strengthening our street outreach efforts.

We are incredibly thankful to The Courage Project for recognizing Ami and for helping turn this honor into tangible support for the people we serve. What an incredible reminder that courage can create a ripple far beyond one person💛🖤

Dental and vision care are two of the most difficult needs for people experiencing homelessness to access. Yet without them, everyday life can become incredibly hard.

No one should have to go without the ability to see clearly. For someone living on the streets, vision can impact safety, independence, and even the simple joys of being able to read, use a phone, or watch TV.

This generous donation will help our neighbors access the vision care they need — and that’s a gift that truly makes a difference💙

🖤💛Labor Day with H3 Project!💛🖤

Today, on Labor Day, The The h3 Project took a moment to celebrate our community and give back! Our team set up a lively outreach table where we handed out free slushies, cool baseball hats, and vibrant buttons🎈

In addition to the treats, we distributed NARCAN and provided important education on its use, ensuring everyone knows how to help save a life. It was heartwarming to see participants from all walks of life—both those experiencing homelessness and travelers passing through our city—come together in this shared experience.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us today! Together, we can build a stronger, more compassionate community. Let’s keep the spirit of giving alive!💛🖤
