Пожалуйста, будьте бдительны. Verita World Foundation works in close partnership with several organizations to develop joint global initiatives to address human trafficking at large. When you hear the word slavery, your first thought is probably of people being captured and sold into slavery centuries ago. You’re probably not even aware that an estimated 40 million people are victims of human trafficking today and, therefore, modern-day enslaved people. The Pandemic, War, and Disaster make people especially vulnerable to human trafficking. People may be more vulnerable because they are:
* Displaced from their homes (temporarily living in a shelter)
* Separated from family and friends
* Disconnected from supportive services
* Unable to safely earn income and be self-sufficient
People who don’t speak a local language may be more vulnerable because they:
* Can’t communicate with authorities
* Are afraid of physical harm or stigma
* Have no access to assistance, services, or protection provided by local laws. While we feel compassion for the victims, we rarely think of it as something that could happen to us or those we love. However, because human traffickers prey on vulnerable people, any situation that puts people in a weak position subjects them to becoming human trafficking victims. While anyone can be affected by human trafficking, some populations you may encounter in your work are at higher risk. We are working closely with our partners around the world to help find safety:
1. Migrants, Refugees, or Asylees
2. People with physical, emotional, or cognitive disabilities.
3. Le***an, gay, bisexual, transgender, q***r or questioning, intersex (someone who has natural bodily variations). With help with legalization and adaptation in the USA. ⚖️ Иммиграционные суды ускоряют рассмотрение дел. Не пропустите свое слушание.

В иммиграционных судах США продолжается ускоренное рассмотрение дел. Все чаще суды переносят даты слушаний на более ранний срок, а люди узнают об этом слишком поздно.

🔹 Если вы не явитесь на слушание, суд может вынести решение о депортации заочно (in absentia removal order).

🔹 Во многих случаях причиной становится не отказ человека прийти в суд, а то, что он не получил новое уведомление вовремя, переехал, не сообщил новый адрес или не проверял статус своего дела.

❗️Если у вас открыто дело в иммиграционном суде:

✅ Регулярно проверяйте дату следующего слушания через систему EOIR.
✅ Немедленно сообщайте суду о смене адреса, телефона или электронной почты.
✅ Не рассчитывайте только на получение письма по почте.
✅ Если вас представляет адвокат, поддерживайте с ним постоянную связь и сразу сообщайте о любых изменениях ваших контактных данных.

Помните: заочное решение о депортации может иметь серьезные последствия. Хотя в некоторых случаях его можно попытаться отменить через Motion to Reopen, для этого обычно необходимо доказать наличие предусмотренных законом оснований, таких как отсутствие надлежащего уведомления или чрезвычайные обстоятельства.
