🎉 🌊 GREAT news out of Alaska!

This week, the Alaska State Legislature passed a joint resolution supporting federal, state and local efforts to clean up and remove marine debris from Alaska's shores. Now, it's on the way to Governor Mike Dunleavy's desk for his signature.

Thank you, Senator Jesse Bjorkman and Rep. Jeremy Bynum and Representative Maxine Dibert, for your leadership to help keep Alaska's shores clean. This vital resolution would not have been possible without your tireless work!

In 2025 alone, more than *1.5 million pounds* of trash were removed from Alaska shorelines. That's 1.5 million pounds of debris that won't harm Alaskan waters, wildlife and ecosystems. Local, state and federal support and funding for cleanups are necessary to ensure our ocean is healthy and thriving for generations to come.

Endangered Species Day 2026 is here … and we’re sounding the alarm for our ocean’s wildlife. 🚨

Right now, we must realize what’s at stake. We’re at risk of losing more ocean wildlife in our lifetime if we don’t take urgent action. These incredible animals are facing a triple planetary crisis—biodiversity loss, plastic pollution AND climate impacts—and their challenges only continue to mount. 📈

Every ocean animal is essential to the health of our ocean. At a time when these precious creatures need stronger protections, they’re instead facing a gauntlet of dangers and increasing neglect. That’s why Ocean Conservancy is advancing science-based solutions, from reducing deadly ship strikes to removing harmful debris and beyond, all while driving policies that protect our ocean.

Your donation today helps power this work to defend species on the brink of extinction. Give back this and learn all about what you can do to advocate for our blue planet. Are you in? Let’s step up for our ocean’s wildlife! 🐢🦭🐧🐋

With only about 1,600 estimated to remain on Earth today, their future is fragile and uncertain—and the challenges they face are more urgent than ever before. Threatened by entanglement in marine debris, food scarcity, disease and predation, their population is at risk of extinction. 🚨

The one thing that can stand in the way of that extinction? US. 💪 Your gift to Ocean Conservancy this Endangered Species Day will help us tackle the root cause of ocean plastic and strengthen our work to advocate for policies that reduce threats like entanglement and ship strikes.
