The Museum serves to continue highlighting stories of extreme weather survivors even after mainstream attention has moved on.

The wildfires that tore through California last January stole not just Altadena residents' sense of safety in their homes, but the homes themselves.

Some mementos were salvageable, and will be showcased at our Museum of Unnatural Disasters in downtown DC starting next week, as will the full version of the Delgados' story.

We continue to see communities burn as climate change worsens. Increased hot, dry, windy conditions are continuing to create these monstrous wildfires that harm our neighbors and our homes.

By evening, the Sandy Fire had consumed more than 1,300 acres of dry brush in the hills above Simi Valley, a city about 30 miles from Los Angeles, and damaged at least one home.
