The EC is excited to launch the first two papers in the new Electrification Roadmap Series. This series offers policymakers, advocates, and industry experts a comprehensive and contemporary account of U.S. transportation electrification efforts, proposes a set of principles for creating a durable EV market, and delves into key transition subareas to offer precise, actionable recommendations for public- and private-sector stakeholders.

Transportation electrification, already gaining momentum before the ongoing oil supply shock, has only accelerated and become more urgent as global leaders recognize its economic and national security benefits. But policy and market volatility threaten to derail the United States’ transition, forfeiting America’s historic position as a global automotive leader.
