On Juneteenth, we celebrate freedom. And no one has reminded us what Black freedom sounds, looks, and feels like quite like BeyoncΓ©.

From Lemonade to Renaissance to Cowboy Carter β€” she has spent her career telling the full, complicated, magnificent story of Black women in America. She has put our grandmothers on the stage. She has put our culture in the archive. She has put our joy on the main stage of the world.

Happy Juneteenth, sisters. Today we celebrate how far we have come β€” and the Black women who keep writing us forward. βœŠπŸΎπŸ’œ

She showed up when almost no one else did β€” and she did it as her full self.

Ernestine Eckstein was a leader in the New York chapter of Daughters of Bilitis, the first le***an civil and political rights organization in the United States. She attended protests and was frequently one of the only women β€” and the only Black woman β€” present at early LGBTQ rights protests.

She did not choose between her Blackness and her queerness. She brought all of herself to every fight β€” and she showed us that those fights were never separate to begin with.

This Pride Month, we say her name. Because the women who built the foundation deserve their flowers. πŸ’ πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

Oklahoma β€” they want you to believe this one doesn't matter.

They are wrong.

Every election is the most important election because every election shapes the conditions of our lives. Our healthcare. Our schools. Our safety. Our rights.

Black women have never had the luxury of sitting out. And we are not about to start now.

β€œI am not free while any woman is unfree, even when her shackles are very different from my own.”

Audre Lorde said that. And she meant every word.

She was a Black le***an feminist poet who refused to be silent about any part of herself β€” her Blackness, her womanhood, her queerness, her power. She wrote into the silences this world tried to force on her. And in doing so, she gave language to generations of Black women who needed to be seen in their fullness.

Lorde once said: β€œI write for those women who do not speak, for those who do not have a voice because they were so terrified.”

This Pride Month, we honor Audre Lorde β€” and every sister in our community who carries her legacy forward. You have always belonged here. πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

She read this to us live on Sunday night.

And the chat went silent.

β€œThis book will always have time for you. And if you let it, this book will sit with you.”

Jovian Zayne wrote β€œSoft Landings for Hard Days” for the friend who feels isolated in her success. The friend too afraid to start over. The friend who had to bury someone she loves. The friend who is doing the best she can β€” taking this sometimes very hard life one day, one moment at a time.
She wrote it for all of us who are ready to land more softly.

Sunday night she debuted her book cover and read from the introduction for the first time β€” right here, in our room, with more than 1,500 sisters watching.

We are not the same.

Maine. Nevada. North Dakota. South Carolina.

There will be a lot of noise today. A lot of reasons to feel overwhelmed, to feel like it doesn't matter, to feel like your one vote won't change anything.

Let us be clear: it does. It always has. And Black women have always known that β€” which is why we keep showing up no matter what they put in our way.

The most powerful thing you can do today? Vote.

The message matters just as much as the movement β€” and Monique Pressley knows both. ✊🏾

One of the sharpest legal minds and most powerful communicators in the room, Monique joins us this Sunday to sharpen how we talk, how we frame, and how we fight.

Because the way we tell our story matters β€” and we are not leaving that to anyone else.

This is the messaging update you did not know you needed.
Tag a sister who leads with her voice.

The work in Congress is real β€” and it is right now. πŸ›οΈ

Congresswoman Joyce Beatty joins us this Sunday to break down the legislative moments that matter most to Black women and our communities. She has never been afraid to speak truth in the halls of power β€” and tonight she brings that same energy straight to our room.

Because we do not wait to be informed. We stay ahead. We stay organized. We stay ready.

Tag a sister who needs to hear this directly.
