ITE - A Community of Transportation Professionals Collegiate Traffic Bowl ITE Collegiate Traffic Bowl, established in 2009.

Each year, since 2009, ITE student chapters from Canada and the United States participate in a competition known as the ITE Collegiate Traffic Bowl. This competition features teams comprised of up to 3 students testing their knowledge of ITE, transportation planning and engineering topics as well as some fun categories. Since the Traffic Bowl was introduced as an international program, 121 ITE stu

dent chapters have participated in a traffic bowl tournament at section or district events. The teams winning an ITE district competition advance to compete in the Collegiate Traffic Bowl Grand Championship, conducted annually at ITE’s International Annual Meeting and Exhibit.

The 2025 Local Arrangements Committee within ITE SoCal invites you to submit an abstract to share your research and projects. Please share the following information as well as this flyer with your networks, including local schools, community groups, churches, and any other place in your communities where there may be students that could benefit from this opportunity, and encourage individuals to submit an application.

The Diversity Scholars Program strives to increase diversity in the transportation profession by supporting African-American, Native American, Alaskan, Hawaiian, and Hispanic/Latino students with an interest in pursuing transportation in their studies and possibly as a career. In addition, this program focuses on supporting students with the greatest financial need.

Financial support (a total of up to $20,000 in scholarship support: up to $4,000 annually per student for up to 5 years of undergraduate enrollment)

This opportunity is available to U.S. high school or community college students intending to transfer to a 4-year university in fall 2025. Eligible candidates should belong to African-American, Native American (including Alaskan and Hawaiian), or Hispanic/Latino heritage. The program is specifically designed for those interested in pursuing a career in transportation and planning to study transportation engineering or a related field at a university with an established ITE Student Chapters.

An objective of the Diversity Scholars Program is to help those with the greatest financial need. Preference will be given to first-generation college students and low household income.

We have two schools in the Grand Championship field with Penn State qualifying last week to represent the Mid-Colonial District. Congrats to them.

On Wednesday, April 20th, the Missouri Valley District will conduct their competition with Arkansas, Kansas and Southern Illinois looking to win a trip to the Grand Championship in New Orleans!

Clemson University has won the Southern District's Traffic Bowl and will participate in the Grand Championship Traffic Bowl for the 6th time! See you in New Orleans.
