🌱 Growing together at Eastern High School! 🌱

On Saturday, September 26, Kiwanis DC members and guests joined our friends at for a garden workday at Eastern High School. Together, we put in 21 service hours to help keep the school garden thriving for about 50 students.

City Blossoms' School Garden Partners Program gives Eastern students hands-on time in nature, outdoor learning, and healthy eating education, and we're proud to have supported these garden days for many years. A big thank you to Jamee Telford for leading the project and to our guests for digging in with us! 💚

Service recap: what Kiwanis DC has been up to lately. We helped 300+ DC kids gear up for school at the Back-to-School Bash with Community of Hope, spent an evening of dinner and bingo with residents at Sarah's Circle, and represented Kiwanis DC at the Capital District Convention in Annapolis — packing supply bags for 200 more kids along the way. Altogether: 13 volunteers, 45 service hours, and a lot of good work. Thank you to everyone who showed up.
