Civilian protests largely built the path to the overthrow of former Sudanese dictator al-Bashir in April 2019, but the military and paramilitary forces that took over continued suppressing public demands for civilian rule and democracy
…at least 128 were killed on June 3rd, 2019, and hundreds more disappeared, women protesting were r***d... today, pro-democracy activists are detained, tortured, killed by both forces in the war
…with an internet blackout a week later, and denied entry of foreign journalists, the military tried to hide their crimes from 2019, but they have not succeeded
…the military and paramilitary Rapid Support Forces are now the ones fighting each other in a heightened war since 2023 while the Sudanese people face famine, mass killings, sexual violence, and more
