The Foundation for Nuclear Studies had the distinct pleasure of taking a Hill staffers on a week-long trip to France to learn more about nuclear on the global stage. We took a bipartisan delegation of Congressional Legislative Directors, Energy Policy Advisors & Chiefs of Staff. We toured multiple sites including the Framatome Saint-Marcel plant to see the manufacturing of nuclear equipment, and the Orano La Hague plant to see a world class facility dedicated to spent fuel recycling and reprocessing. Between those visits our delegation met with international leaders on nuclear in Paris to learn more about how France is navigating complexities within the sector. All in all it was a very busy week, but it was such a powerful experience. And while the emphasis was on learning, newfound friendships were created across the aisle.
