gray for glioblastoma, our organizations name, was named after our very first initiative, on wednesdays we wear gray. the color for brain cancer is gray, and our founder, kate, wanted to wear gray to spread awareness and support/honor her person, her dad. from there it has become it’s own initiative with individuals not only wearing gray to raise awareness but also for their person. Gray for a Reason is a tribute to those we wear gray for—the loved ones, fighters, and legacies that inspire us to continue raising awareness for glioblastoma and brain cancer every day. Through grayscale photographs, this initiative creates a space to honor, inspire, remember, reflect, and stand together.

closing out Childhood Cancer Awareness Month with a very special delivery 💛

through Gray for Glioblastoma’s Influencer Program, creators donate unused PR and gifted products so we can give them a second life where they can make a difference.

this month, that meant a whole lot of Squishmallows 🥹 we were able to donate them to bring a little extra comfort and joy to kids impacted by cancer.

a huge thank you to the influencers who continue to donate their PR to our program and help us turn something as simple as a gifted product into something meaningful.

Childhood Cancer Awareness Month may be coming to an end, but these kids deserve our support all year long. 🎗️💛

i lost my dad to glioblastoma after a year and a half battle with the disease. since losing him, i’ve learned that grief isn’t about leaving someone behind. it’s about finding new ways to carry them with you, talk about them, and continue sharing who they were with the world.

now, I get to add this bracelet from Raiz (ha-eez) with one of my favorite photos of the two of us, his initial, C, and a cross.

i love that i can look down and see him, but i also love that it gives other people a reason to ask about him and gives me another opportunity to tell his story and im so grateful to Raiz (ha-eez) for giving me another beautiful way to carry him with me every day. 🤍

the ABCs of GBM 🧠 this week, we’re breaking down CAR T-cell therapy, an immunotherapy that reengineers a patient’s own immune cells to recognize and attack cancer.

CAR T has transformed treatment for certain blood cancers, with stories like Emily Whitehead’s showing just how powerful this technology can be. But applying that same approach to solid tumors like glioblastoma is much more complicated.

unlike traditional therapies, cell therapies can be designed to target each individual tumor. Unfortunately, GBM is incredibly adaptable and can hide from the immune system, so researchers are developing smarter cell therapies that can overcome these defense strategies, target multiple markers, and cooperate with other treatments.
