The USHLI National Conference, considered the premier cross-generational leadership conference in the nation, will be presented in a virtual format on February 18-20, 2021. Our conference theme is New Leadership - A New Beginning.

This will be another USHLI first, so we will be presenting very exciting and flexible state of the art programming, including high quality entertainment, nationally prominent high-powered speakers, and interactive forums featuring top Latino experts in education, the public and private sectors, politics, the nonprofit world, and more.

As always, we will offer interactive workshops on surviving COVID-19, winning cultural wars, controlling our destiny, empowering communities of color, creating a diverse and inclusive workforce, uniting an anticipated population of 75 million Latinos in the coming decade, and more.

There will be opportunities to connect through live college and career fairs, chats during each of the panel discussions, and Q&A during workshop sessions. Chat rooms for reflection and discussion will be open at the end of each day to encourage participants to network.

National leadership awards will be presented throughout the conference program to honor women of courage, humanitarian efforts, community service, lifetime achievement, and a national Hispanic hero.

USHLI is an award-winning Chicago-based national, non-profit, non-partisan, tax-exempt organization. The four pillars of its work are education, servant leadership development, civic engagement, and research.

THIS THURSDAY... Please join us at the Swearing-In Ceremony to honor Hispanic Members of the 117th US Congress, and the new officers of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC). The 117th Congress includes 38 members in the CHC, four of whom will serve in the Senate.

Held in an all virtual setting, the Swearing-In Ceremony will feature remarks by the transitioning CHC Chairs, U.S. Representative Joaquin Castro (2019-2020) and U.S. Representative Raul Ruiz, M.D. (2021-2022), and the transitioning CHCI Chairs, U.S. Representative Ruben Gallego (2019-2020) and U.S. Representative Nanette Diaz Barragán (2021-2022). The ceremony will also be live streamed CHCI Facebook.

"We hope that each of you and your loved ones are safe and healthy. As you know, we postponed our Swearing-In Ceremony out of concern for our nation and colleagues impacted by the disturbing and violent events that occurred at the U.S. Capitol last week. As we continue to seek understanding during these difficult times in our nation, and as we look for justice and democracy to prevail, we also want to proceed with our important work and gather this week to show unity and hope in our community."
