The MUD is excited to announce the kickoff of LOTUS, our mentorship and empowerment program designed to help young ladies blossom into confident, graceful, emotionally healthy, and spiritually grounded women.

Over the course of this 6-week experience, girls will be surrounded by sisterhood, encouragement, mentorship, and love while participating in meaningful conversations, fun experiences, and hands-on community service.

LOTUS will focus on helping young ladies:
• Manage emotions in healthy ways
• Build confidence and embrace their self-worth
• Develop healthy friendships and relationships
• Learn etiquette, class, and life skills
• Strengthen communication and leadership abilities
• Grow in faith and deepen their relationship with Christ

Girls will also have opportunities to serve the community by feeding the homeless and becoming the hands and feet of Christ through acts of kindness and service.

Throughout the program, participants will be reminded that they are valuable, capable, chosen, and created with purpose. Our desire is for every young lady to leave LOTUS with greater confidence, emotional support, wisdom, grace, and the spiritual foundation needed to positively impact their families, friendships, schools, and communities.

Participants who complete the program will receive 30 community service hours.

The MUD is excited to announce the kickoff of REED, our new mentorship program for teenage boys!

Through this 6-week program, teen guys will experience weekly mentorship filled with growth, brotherhood, healing, and purpose — from paintballing and fishing trips to hands-on life skills training and community service opportunities.

Participants will learn practical life skills such as:
• Changing a tire
• Checking and changing oil
• Leadership and responsibility
• Anger management skills
• Healthy relationship tips
• Emotional support and healthy communication
• How to process grief and difficult emotions

Most importantly, young men will build meaningful relationships with Christ and deepen their understanding of the Bible. They will learn what it means to become strong, emotionally healthy, spiritually grounded men of God.

Students will also serve the community by feeding the homeless and becoming the hands and feet of Christ in action.

Participants who complete the program will receive 30 community service hours.

Our goal is for every young man to leave this program equipped with the tools, wisdom, confidence, emotional support, and spiritual foundation needed to become a successful man of God and a positive impact on their families, friendships, and communities as future leaders.

Easter Monday we were outside doing what The MUD do, showing up with love

We gave out Easter baskets shared the Gospel and made sure every child walked away with more than just goodies. Each one received a booklet we wrote and illustrated telling the real story of Easter so they know it is not just about eggs but about Jesus His sacrifice and His love.

This is why we do it. Meeting needs planting seeds and pointing our community back to truth ✝️

He rose! 🙌🏾

Sometimes we get so focused on the fact that Jesus died for our sins that we forget He died for theirs too. Every sin. Every story. Every struggle.

Even the ones society has counted out.
The ones marked by addiction, felonies, and broken pasts.
The ones people have given up on… Christ never did.

He died for them.
And more than that He rose for them.

The resurrection is our reminder that no one is too far gone. That what looks dead can live again. That what feels hopeless can be restored.

And right here in Anacostia, we refuse to give up on what God has not given up on. We are called to serve, to love, to disciple, to remind people of who they are and whose they are.

Happy Resurrection Sunday. He is risen.
