ElectionDeniers.org is back — and that’s because the election denial movement that began in 2020 is now deeply embedded across the federal government. President Trump and his allies are laying the groundwork to undermine and take control over our elections and the states who run them. Their playbook fits into three buckets: control the plot, control the process, and control the players, States United Action CEO Joanna Lydgate tells NPR .

“We've watched these state officials on both sides of the aisle stand up and push back when Trump has tried to interfere with elections and election results in the past," Lydgate said. "We know that they will do that again. But it's incredibly important that we elect people who believe in our system and who believe in free and fair elections."

The 2025 elections weren’t a fluke—our elections are free, fair, & secure. The more voters learn about Election Deniers, the less popular they are.

The truth is that most Americans don’t like election denialism. It’s not just bad policy, it’s bad politics and puts our democracy at risk.

The state’s top elections official Tuesday asked the Trump administration to point to proof that any irregularities exist.

The president has placed proponents of his false claims into government jobs while dismantling systems built to secure voting, raising fears that he aims to seize authority over elections ahead of next year’s midterms.

In Missouri, the Justice Department is contacting county election officials, requesting access to election machines made by Dominion Voting Systems that were used during the 2020 presidential election. The company has been a major focus of Election Denier conspiracy theories.

When asked if he would allow such a probe, Jasper County Clerk Charlie Davis responded, “Absolutely not,” adding, “The laws prohibit us from allowing anybody to touch our equipment.”

Trump's Department of Justice is asking Missouri election officials for access to voting equipment used in the 2020 presidential election.
