Wasco Is

Wasco Is offered candidates in elections impacting our community to contribute statements and photos of their choosing as we have done for years. They will be posted as is without editing. Let’s get to know our candidates. Jesus Vicente Luna for Wasco Elementary School District Board of Trustee.

I’m Jesus Vicente Luna. I’ll keep this short because I’ve always believed actions speak louder than words.

You may know me because we grew up together, you’ve supported my businesses, we’re neighbors, or our children went to school together. For decades, I’ve supported Wasco through baseball, FFA, Robotics, the Wasco Rose Festival Foundation, the Wasco Community Scholarship Association, and families who walk through my door needing help.

As a father, business owner, and CSUB graduate with a degree in Criminal Justice, I bring experience listening, managing budgets, working with people, and solving problems. My involvement in our schools and community has helped me understand what matters to our families.

Now I’m ready to bring that same dedication to the Wasco Union Elementary School District as your Board Trustee.

I’m not perfect, but I am dedicated. I’m ready for the job, ready for the commitment, and ready to earn your trust through my actions.

I would be honored to have your vote. Join me today at 6 p.m. for the Wasco Woman’s Club Candidate Forum. Come get to know me, ask questions, and share what matters to you. You can also watch live through Wasco IS.

Wasco High Athletic and Activities Director Josh Huddleston shared that Friday morning, Natali Gregory ran in the invitation-only Carlo Prandini Girls Championship Race at the 47th Asics Clovis Invitational. Not only did she run, she was second fastest ever on this course (Woodward Park) for Freshman Girls (16:58)! Natali is a second generation record setter for Wasco High-making both Wasco and Lost Hills proud!

Chris Ruiz added “The record-holder on this course is two-time National Champion Sarah Baxter. This is like a preview to the State XC Finals. Natali not only won the ShowCase race by 17 seconds over the second place girl, she beat 99 other girls. She also ran the fastest time so far out of every Division that competed. Simply unbelievable.”
