Warren Composite Squadron is a proud unit of the Civil Air Patrol, the official auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force.

Welcome to the official page of Warren County Composite Squadron 505 – Civil Air Patrol
(CAP)! We are the local unit of the United States Air Force Auxiliary, serving Warren County and surrounding communities through youth development, emergency services, and aerospace education. What We Do:
- Cadet Program: Youth ages 12–18 build leadership, character, and physical fitness through
hands-on experiences, including search and rescue training, promotional flights, community
service, and special events.

- Senior Member Program: Adult volunteers support our missions, mentor cadets, and serve in roles ranging from emergency response to public affairs and aerospace instruction.
- Emergency Services: Our team participates in search and rescue operations, disaster relief, and homeland security missions as trained volunteers.

- Aerospace Education: We promote STEM education through classroom activities, air shows, and aviation experiences. Meeting Time & Location:

In August 2022, members of Civil Air Patrol Squadron 505 of Warren County honored our nation's heroes with a powerful Missing Man's Table ceremony at the Warren County Fair.

This moving tribute reminded us of those who answered our nation's highest calling and have yet to return from the field of battle.

As Lt. Col. Tom Brown shared that day:
“There is a group that cannot be with us today, for they have answered our nation’s highest calling, and have yet to return from the field of battle.”

We are proud to reflect on this moment and continue our commitment to honoring veterans and serving our community.

A salute to veterans was held Wednesday afternoon at Warren County Fair. There were dozens of veterans gathered around Betsy Ross Gazebo. Hot dogs were provided to veterans courtesy of Senior Helpers, which sponsored the event. A table was set, but some special guests were missing. Civil Air Patrol....

Happy Birthday to the U.S. Air Force Reserve!
Today, April 14th, we proudly celebrate the birthday of the Air Force Reserve. Civil Air Patrol is honored to serve as the official auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force and to work alongside the brave men and women of the Reserve in service to our communities and nation.

Here’s to continued partnership, excellence, and dedication to mission and country.

Please join us in congratulating Cadet Tombaugh and Cadet Wiler on successfully completing the 2025 Cadet Commanders Course this past weekend! This intensive CAP leadership course (hosted by Pennsylvania Wing) challenged them to develop their skills as cadet leaders. Cadets Tombaugh and Wiler dedicated their weekend to learning how to become better leaders for our squadron and community. We couldn’t be prouder of their hard work, commitment, and the leadership growth they have achieved through this program.

They even made a special stop on the way to visit Lt. Newcome. In the photo, they are standing proudly in front of his famous red truck, all smiles after finishing the course. We’re thankful that Lt. Newcomb – a longtime member of our squadron family – could celebrate with them and offer his congratulations. 🙌

This visit highlights the strong community bonds in our squadron, where senior members and cadets support each other every step of the way. Please join us in cheering on these cadets for their accomplishment and the leadership journey ahead of them! 🎉

Civil Air Patrol Helps Confirm Local Tornado

Neighbors helping neighbors! The National Weather Service has confirmed an EF-1 tornado touched down near East Branch Dam (just outside St. Marys, PA) during the March 16th storms. This tornado – only about an hour south of Warren – had estimated peak winds around 100 mph and cut a path roughly 0.5 miles long and 200 yards wide through the area. We’re proud to share that Civil Air Patrol aerial imagery helped the NWS confirm this tornado’s impact – and thankfully, no injuries were reported.

Volunteer service is at the heart of Civil Air Patrol’s mission. Our Warren Composite Squadron 505 is always ready to support the community. We’re proud to be your neighbors and stand ready to serve whenever we’re needed!
