@ PetSmart 385 Haggerty Rd, Commerce, MI For the Love of Cats Rescue and Adoption is an all-volunteer, donation based organization dedicated to saving lives and finding homes for homeless cats and kittens, including strays and those relinquished by their owners. Additionally, we educate the public on a variety of cat-related topics. We are foster-based, meaning all our rescued cats are housed in volunteer foster homes, where they are loved and cared for. We do not have a brick and mortar shelter, however, we do show our cats through space at our partner organization, PetSmart Commerce Township, located at 385 Haggerty Road, near 14 Mile Road.

We invite you to browse through our pages and take a look at our Adoptable Cats and Kittens. You might just find your very own fur-ever friend! 🐾 **Foster Spotlight: Meet Karen White!** 🐾

For Love of Cats Rescue and Adoption (LOCRA) is proud to introduce a long-time cornerstone of our organization for this month's Foster Spotlight: Karen C White (pictured here snuggled up with her sweet cat, Ellbee!)

Karen’s journey with us began back in Christmas 2013 when her husband adopted Mercedes for her and mentioned the rescue was looking for volunteers. She stepped up to help with cage cleaning, transports, and fostering, and she’s been an integral part of our team ever since—serving for an incredible 13 years!

Here is a glimpse into Karen’s amazing contribution to LOCRA:

* **Fostering Extraordinaire:** Over the years, Karen has opened her heart and home to foster a staggering **270+ cats and kittens**!

* **Behind-the-Scenes Backbone:** Retired after 35 years in customer service with United Airlines, Karen keeps our operations running smoothly as Treasurer and Board Member. She handles banking, tracks vetting, manages transports, and fosters.

* **Busy Household:** A lifelong animal lover, Karen shares her home with 5 cats of her own: Mercedes, Dazzle, Cabby, LadyBug, and Ellbee.

Whether she’s keeping our financial records straight, ensuring our rescue cats get to their vet appointments, or nurturing litters until they find their forever families, Karen's dedication is unmatched.

Thank you, Karen, for 13 years of selflessness, hard work, and endless love for the cats! 💖 Leave a message of thanks for Karen in the comments! 👇

🍂 As crisp autumn leaves fall and sweater weather sets in, For Love of Cats Rescue and Adoption has a extra-special cuddle bug searching for a cozy lap to warm up this season! 🍁🎃

**Meet Rayven!** 🐾

* **Profile:** Lovely 11½-year-old black cat.

* **Personality:** A total cuddle-bug who excels at letting you know when he wants love by headbutting you and chirp-purring for affection.

* **Ideal Home:** He was surrendered to rescue after his companion human passed away. Rayven has been an only cat for most of his life, so he needs a quiet home (ideally with one or two adults) where he can be the sole pet and spent his golden years completely loved and cherished.

If you have a peaceful spot on the couch and plenty of snuggles to spare, Rayven is ready to make your heart full this fall! 🧡✨

🍂 As autumn leaves roll in, For Love of Cats Rescue and Adoption has a very special update to share! 🍁🎃

**Meet Minka!** 🐾
Her name is Polish for **"Strong Warrior"**—and she truly lives up to it. After wandering the streets as a mama-to-be, this sweet, loving girl has officially found her way into rescue. Now, instead of braving the chilly fall weather on her own, Minka is safe, warm, and surrounded by love as she waits for the arrival of her precious little ones.

Minka is not yet available for adoption as she gets ready for motherhood, but we are so thankful she is in a cozy home where she can rest and feel cherished. Stay tuned for updates on Minka and her upcoming kittens soon! 🧡✨
