Empty the Shelters® returns July 5–26! 💙💚

Summer is one of the most challenging times of year for animal shelters. Kitten and puppy season brings an influx of homeless pets, while adoptions often slow down—leaving shelters overcrowded and stretched for resources.

That's why BISSELL Pet Foundation is partnering with shelters and rescues across the country to help more pets find loving homes through reduced adoption fees of $70 or less.

Shelter Spotlight: 🐾

What makes Beautiful Together stand out isn't only what happens on their campus; it's their reach beyond it. The team partners with small, rural shelters that are stretched thin and under-resourced, providing support that helps keep those organizations running and animals moving toward safety.

This month's Shelter Spotlight comes with big news: plans are moving forward for an on-site medical clinic that will serve owned pets, shelter animals, and rescues alike. The Cat Café creates opportunities for connection, while specialized tiny houses give canine residents a sense of home as they wait for their families.

Farm animals are also a cherished part of the mission. Soon, dedicated houses for pigs will create a haven for animals that are too often overlooked. Because at Beautiful Together, no animal is too big, too small, or too overlooked to matter.

Behind it all is an extraordinary team bringing passion, vision, and an expansive sense of who deserves care.

During BISSELL Pet Foundation’s May National Empty the Shelters® event, a family visited one of the Furkids Animal Rescue and Shelters locations hoping to meet tabby brothers Hank and Harold. It didn’t take long for the lovable duo to win them over with their charm and sweet personalities. But Hank and Harold weren’t the only ones making a lasting impression that day.

Another sweet tabby who was friends with the brothers, Katya, quickly stole a few hearts of her own. Before long, the family realized they couldn’t imagine leaving any of them behind. Instead of taking home the two they came to see, they adopted all three! We are so happy for this new family! 💙💚
