Meet Grateful Pet Cream Soda ❤️

Cream Soda arrived at a Houston shelter before being transported to , where he had already been identified as a medical case in need of care.

Once in Colorado, veterinarians discovered that Cream Soda had an upper respiratory infection and a severely fractured left rear femur, injuries consistent with being hit by a car or another object. The fracture was too severe to repair, leaving amputation as his only path forward.

A BISSELL Pet Foundation Grateful Pet grant helped make his surgery possible, along with his neuter, and Cream Soda healed beautifully.

His foster family fell in love with him along the way and decided to make it official. They adopted Cream Soda and gave him a new name: Gnocchi. 🐾 Today, Gnocchi spends his days watching birds and squirrels from his favorite window, with his 10-year-old Corgi brother by his side.

Today is Check the Chip Day! 💙📣 Did you know lost pets with microchips are 20 times more likely to be reunited with their families?

Take a few minutes today to make sure your pet’s microchip is registered and your contact information is up to date. Here’s why it matters:

🐾 Microchips last a lifetime and provide a permanent way to connect your pet back to you.
🐾 One in three pets will become lost at some point in their life.
🐾 Microchipping can be affordable and is often available through veterinarians, shelters and community clinics.
🐾 Remember: a microchip isn’t a GPS tracker. It only works if your registration and contact information are current!

The need for accessible veterinary care is bigger than you might think. 📣

38 million households are Asset Limited, Income Constrained and Employed (ALICE) (29%). Another 17 million households are at poverty level (13%). And 70% of households have at least one companion pet.

➡What that means: at least 38.5 million households are struggling with access to veterinary care.

Here is what BISSELL Pet Foundation is doing:

Partnering with animal shelters and rescues in 28 states to provide over 230,000 spay neuter surgeries this year for $35 or less through our groundbreaking program, Fix the Future, a contract veterinary program.

Together with the Dave & Cheryl Duffield Foundation, we are piloting the Duffield Pet Wellness Days, a contract veterinary wellness initiative to bring access to care to the communities that need it the most.

Through our collaboration with Boehringer Ingelheim Cares Foundation, we have facilitated the distribution of more than 1.2 million doses of free parasite prevention for shelters and their communities in just 8 months.

And we are just getting started. 💙
