Come Into the Circle: Removing the Log, Receiving Wisdom
Date: Wednesday, September 2
Scripture Focus: Matthew 7:7-8 (TPT) & James 1:5
"Ask, and the gift is yours. Seek, and you'll discover. Knock, and the door will be opened for you." — Matthew 7:7
How do we walk the Good Road when the journey feels heavier than our own strength can carry?
Jesus calls us away from criticism and toward humility—challenging us to look honestly at ourselves before pointing out the faults of others. In many Indigenous lifeways, we learn that before we speak into the community, we must first listen. Before we seek to restore someone else, we must attend to our own spirit. Good relationships begin with a good heart.
But walking this path isn't about trying harder in our own power. You can fill a bookshelf with self-help books, but self-help relies on self. The secret to the Good Road is becoming Spirit-dependent through prayer.
Ask — We ask because we need Creator’s wisdom every single day.
Seek — We seek because we need His direction to clear our blind spots.
Knock — We knock because only He can open doors of healing and transformation.
When we persistently ask, seek, and knock, the Holy Spirit lovingly removes the log from our eye—replacing pride with humility, judgment with love, and confusion with discernment. We don't walk this road alone; we stay close to the Guide.
