Christ Central Oconee is meeting the needs of the poor and disadvantaged in the community by first providing basic needs, such as food, clothing, and prayer. The mission then assists individuals in improving their lives and the lives of their families by providing teaching and training in areas needed for rehab, recovery support, to secure and retain employment, stabilize their family, and develop Christian character including the following areas:
*Mentoring
*Education
*Addiction and Trauma Restoration
*Transitional Housing
*Job Training
*Life Skills Classes
*Relationship Building; Enriching Communities
*Food distribution

Completing this milestone takes dedication, determination, and a willingness to work toward a better future. Each step forward is a reminder that change is possible and that every new beginning is worth.

We wish him continued success as he moves forward on his journey of recovery.

Six days a week, the men at OARS show up to learn practical life skills and build the tools to stay sober.

Here’s Roland leading one of those classes. Our staff and volunteers from community organizations share their time and knowledge to help these men put recovery into practice every day.

Twenty years ago, after a lifelong struggle with addiction, Ashley Williams got sober. Feeling called by God to feed people, he and his wife set up tables and crock pots outside Hometown Grocery.

That simple act of faith grew into Christ Central Ministries Oconee, which Ashley founded alongside his wife Tiffany Williams. With support from the community and local government, Ashtree and OARS took shape—turning the old jail into a place of hope. Today, that mission also reaches women through Magnolia House.

It began with a meal and a willingness to answer God’s call. Thank you, Ashley, for helping others find the hope you found.

Today, we're proud to recognize Leslie Spearman, Harm Reduction Coordinator for Christ Central Ministries Oconee.

Leslie's recovery journey began January 12, 2023. Addiction took her to some incredibly dark places, including jail and a near-fatal overdose. She remembers that last overdose vividly. When she came back, something inside her had shifted. She didn't know it then, but her life was about to change.

Today, Leslie uses the very experiences that once nearly destroyed her to help others find hope and a way forward. Through her work inside the Oconee County Detention Center, she helps others discover that their past does not have to determine their future.

Recovery has also given Leslie the courage to pursue her own dreams. After earning her GED, she enrolled at Tri-County Technical College, taking another step toward her goal of building a career in the legal field.

Her story is proof that recovery doesn't just save lives. It gives people the opportunity to build lives they once thought were impossible.

This weekend, the ladies of The Magnolia House enjoyed an exciting outing to a Clemson volleyball game!

Experiences like these give our ladies the opportunity to step outside their daily routines, strengthen their connections, and simply enjoy a well-deserved day of fun!

We're grateful for every opportunity to help make their journey one filled with hope, encouragement, and new experiences.

Sometimes, the best moments are the simplest ones!

Yesterday, residents from The Magnolia House and OARS enjoyed a beautiful day exploring the mountains of South Carolina!

Our adventure included a visit to Caesar’s Head, a stop at F Mart for some delicious hot dogs, and a chance to take in the breathtaking views of Table Rock.

Recovery is about more than leaving the past behind. It’s about building relationships, making memories, discovering new experiences, and learning to enjoy life again.

At Christ Central Ministries Oconee, we believe that fellowship and meaningful experiences are important parts of the journey toward a brighter future.

A little fresh mountain air, good food, and great company made for a wonderful day.

Sometimes, a change of scenery can be a beautiful reminder of just how much life has to offer!

The ladies of The Magnolia House recently enjoyed an outing to Isaqueena Falls and Stumphouse Tunnel, taking in the natural beauty and history of Oconee County.

At Christ Central Ministries Oconee, recovery is about more than overcoming the past. It's about building a brighter future, forming meaningful connections, and learning to enjoy life's simple moments along the way.

Every new experience is another opportunity for growth, fellowship, and making memories worth holding onto. ❤️
