Together We Foster

Together We Foster Together We Foster provides support to the foster care community of Northeast Arkansas, as well as St. Francis, Lee, Phillips, & Monroe Counties!

We strive to bring awareness to local communities on how they can support families impacted by foster care. Together We Foster provides support and resources to children in foster care and their biological families, foster families, and families with open Protective Service Cases with the Arkansas Department of Human Services We advocate for and bring awareness to the needs of these group so they

are surrounded with support and can successfully fulfill their purpose. We have Resource Centers in Paragould, Jonesboro, Rector, Pocahontas, and Forrest City that house clothing closets, visit centers (with the exception of our Rector Location- it is a closet and freezer location, only), Manna Meal Freezers, and more. We host events throughout the year like our Back to School Supply Event, Natalie Brewer Memorial Graduate Luncheon, and Christmas Parties to help children feel supported throughout their foster care journey. We rely heavily on volunteers and community members to help us meet these needs. To learn how you can help, contact us at [email protected]!

We call them our Clothing Closets, but honestly, they’re more like warehouses of hope. ❤️

Across Northeast Arkansas and The Delta, we have closets in Paragould, Jonesboro, Rector, Pocahontas, and Forrest City! Each location is filled with clothing, shoes, diapers, formula, hygiene items, bedding, toys, and so much more for children and teens entering foster care.

When a child is removed from their home, they often arrive with very little. Our goal is to make sure foster families have immediate access to the essentials they need during those critical first days and throughout a child's time in care. These resources are available to all foster families, regardless of the agency they are licensed through, as well as children and families involved in protective services cases.

Because children don't enter care only during business hours, our closets are accessible to DCFS staff 24/7 and available to foster and adoptive families by appointment.

The most incredible part? Every item on our shelves has been donated by generous supporters like you. Your donations help ensure that children experiencing one of the most difficult seasons of their lives are met with dignity, comfort, and care.

Together, these five closets serve children and families with open DCFS cases across Northeast Arkansas and The Delta…providing not just necessities, but a reminder that an entire community cares.

If you know a foster family who could benefit from these resources, send them our way! We'd love to connect with them and help however we can.

📢 Be watching tomorrow for our updated donation needs list! Your support keeps these closets stocked, organized, and ready for the next child who needs them. ❤️

💙 For National Foster Care Month, we are honoring people who have simply said, “I’ll be the one.” The one who shows up. The one who steps in. The one who chooses to care- whether that’s opening a home, volunteering time, or using their gifts to strengthen the foster care community. Every role matters more than words can fully express.

Today, we are so thankful to highlight Jovany and Jessica! This amazing couple opened their home this year as a foster family, and they have already been such a sweet part of the foster care community. Their hearts for children and willingness to say “yes” to serving others has been such a blessing to witness.

“We said yes to opening our home because we want to be able to give back as much as we can. We think all kids are deserving of love and we want to be a safe space for children.”

We are incredibly thankful for families like Jovany and Jessica who are willing to step out in faith, love deeply, and provide safety and care for children who need it most. Thank you both for being the one. 💙

If you’re considering opening as a foster home, please send us a message!

Last Friday, board member Kersten Herget had an absolute blast attending the Grand Reopening celebration for the Walmart Neighborhood Market Paragould - Linwood Drive! 🎉

Kersten was honored to accept a generous $1,500 donation on behalf of Together We Foster, and we are beyond grateful for partners like Walmart Neighborhood Market who choose to invest in children and families impacted by foster care. 💙

Support like this helps us continue providing tangible resources, encouragement, and hope to families across our community — and we couldn’t do it without amazing community partners cheering us on along the way! ✨

✨ During National Foster Care Month, we’re celebrating the people who have stepped up and said, “I’ll be the one.”

🫶The one who helps behind the scenes.
🫶The one who gives their time.
🫶The one who sees a need and fills it.

Our Wednesday Closet Crew began with one community member who saw a need in our Paragould closet and invited retired friends to serve alongside her. Now each Wednesday, they faithfully sort donations, hang clothes, and help us keep the closet ready for children and families impacted by foster care.

When asked why they do this, they said- “We volunteer at the Closet because We believe we are chosen to serve others, and it is a blessing when we accept that calling- Even behind the scenes! We are grateful to support the mission by helping provide essential items and encouragement to foster families and those who care for children during difficult times. Serving alongside others also creates a special bond—friendships that truly last a lifetime.”

We may not have a photo of everyone, but we are so thankful for this sweet group and the difference they make every week. 🤍

Our Executive Director, Lindsay Roberts, had the privilege of serving on the panel for the 100 Families Initiative of Greene County Alliance Meeting this past week! 🤍

During the discussion, we were able to talk about paths to permanency for children in foster care, raise awareness that reunification is typically the goal when children enter foster care, explain that there is no such thing as “foster to adopt” in Arkansas, and share ways our community can support children and families impacted by foster care.

These are such important conversations, and we’re thankful for opportunities to help educate and advocate alongside others who care deeply about families in our community.

If you’ve ever wondered what 100 Families is all about, we’d love to have you join us at the next alliance meeting in June! ✨

🏡 Last week, the YPN Committee of the Northeast Arkansas Board of Realtors stopped by our Jonesboro location! We had the opportunity to give them a tour of the facility, share more about Together We Foster, and talk about the growing need for more foster homes across Northeast Arkansas.

We truly enjoyed spending time with this amazing group and are so thankful for their support, encouragement, and willingness to learn more about how they can help make a difference for children and families in our community. 🤍
