THIS is what foster care is all about. ā¤ļø
One of our foster moms recently shared a story that deserves to be celebrated!
When a little boy came into her home, she knew she wanted to give him all the love and care he needed. But along the way, something beautiful happened. She built a relationship with his momma, too, as his momma worked toward bringing him home. They supported one another, worked together, and made sure this little boy had the love he needed from both of them.
And now? Reunification is complete! No more court dates, no more scheduled visits, no more case requirements. Just love, family, and a friendship that will continue long after foster care.
THIS is what we love to see!
Foster care isn't just about opening your home to a child. It's about recognizing that child comes from a family, too. It's about loving their child while encouraging and supporting them as they work toward bringing their family back together.
Sometimes, you go into foster care thinking about the child you'll welcome into your home, never imagining that you'll gain a lifelong relationship with their momma, too.
We are SO proud of this foster family for walking alongside this momma, cheering her on, and building a relationship that will last beyond foster care.
Because the goal isn't just to care for a child while they're in your home. It's to help families get back together whenever possible, and sometimes, you get to be part of a story that ends with a little more love and a few more people to call family. š«¶
