The Friends of Kamalani & Lydgate Park host EVERY Saturday beach cleanups at 8:30am, and community workdays for Earth Day (Spring) and National Make A Difference Day (Fall) with mission of making a difference on Kauai. Each & Every Saturday morning from 8:30-10:30, a group of community "friends" gather to clean up the beach at the Lydgate Beach Park swimming ponds. Some of the things we do:
1) Cl
eaning up beach area by the Morgan Ponds swimming areas
2) Cleaning up and removal of plant debris from the Heiaus - Hauola Heiau trees and bushes
3) Park beautification with trash and litter pickup from the park
4) Creation, repairs, and maintenance of "beach furniture" made from debris
5) Watering of the grass as needed
6) Enjoy snacks, coffee and water at end of work
