Lots of history about to be on display. And this is just the trophies. This is not any of the news reports, none of the letters from the community, none of the pictures of the philanthropic events or the fellowship that we have out here.

We are preparing to do a little bit of remodel within our building, we want to add a “museum“ in one of the rooms on the first floor.

As we begin this process, we are going through some of our display cases, looking at some of the awards that have been earned by Karem Shrine over the years.

So far the oldest award that we have found within our Case is an award from 1925! This thing is very cool. Hopefully the pictures will do it justice. The engraving on it says:

This is kind of fun! Looking at all of these trophies, as we prepare to create the museum, it reminds me of the saying that an old friend told me years and years ago! His words were; “If you don’t know where you came from how will you know where you’re going?“

Very exciting times as we dig into the past to bring it to this new generation of Mason‘s and Shriners! Very excited for the community to see this museum when we finish it.

Karem Shrine has been in Waco Texas since 1920. There is a lot of history out here and an amazing amount of involvement with the surrounding communities!!

What a GREAT event!! LOVE IN ACTION……what does that mean to you? To us it means seeing people come together for a greater cause with no expectations of returns. Love In Action is this specific event. Ladies coming together raising money to help fund our Hospital Transportation so we can continue to take our patients to ad from their appointments throughout Texas! THANK YOU LADIES! Oh and thanks to the guys that are doing their best to serve the ladies!!

The day is finally here! It’s the day for love and action. Love and action is a really fun get together where people come in. They sponsor tables and they create the table for whatever look or theme they want. They invite six persons to sit at the table and we Nobles of the Shrine will serve the ladies at the tables and it just turns into a fun type fellowship event for our ladies and of course the Nobles that are serving. Have a great time too. We do this every year if it looks like it’s fun to you just give us a call and get set up for next year .

Every year we get a new president and every year the new presidents always have ideas on things to do for the temple. Often times those things include improving the aesthetics or maybe changing policies, etc.

Our current leadership committee for the past few years, and for the ensuing few years has made a solid commitment to improve our temple and the property where it’s more appealing to the community! One of the first things that we’ve done with that, of course was bringing in Feztival of Lights at the campground of Karem Shrine, another improvement was actually completed today! Our silent messenger, which is known throughout the world as a symbol of hope for children that need medical attention with Burns, orthopedic issues, Cleft Lip Patient, and so much more, had the pleasure of being completely redone to its original appearance of when it was installed at Karem Shrine! He is standing tall and is ready to greet everybody as they come on this property! What do you think about the work done?

It is amazing how many people come out to our fish fries. For example this little lady decided to jump right in and step up on a crate so she could reach the beans and help people ok actually that little lady is the chief rabban’s lady, Robin Barben, you should come see her today before 7:30.

2026 is the 250th anniversary of our FREEDOM! Celebrate tomorrow evening (Friday the 24th) by standing your ground and REFUSING TO COOK DINNER! Come on out to Karem Shrine from 5:30-7:30 for the best Fish Fry in town! You will not be disappointed!
