Grow Wabash County is your nonprofit partner that strategically combines the county-wide Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Group.

Grow Wabash County is a one-stop-shop for business development efforts. Grow Wabash County strategically combines the efforts of the former EDG of Wabash County and the former Wabash County Chamber of Commerce into a more streamlined and agile organization that is the single point of contact for economic and community development efforts in Wabash County. We are a one-stop-shop for business development efforts, the chief marketing arm of Wabash County and its communities for traditional economic development functions, and the primary supporting organization for businesses here in Wabash County and those we hope to attract to our community. We focus on five main areas:

• Workforce Development
• Entrepreneurial Support
• Business Expansion & Attraction
• Investor Services & Retention

Wabash County will be the model for small town America, making a relevant impact on the global community, by offering vibrant cultural experiences, enriching lifestyles and growing economic opportunities while building on our heritage.

New investment starts with new opportunities, and one could be coming to Wabash County.

Grow Wabash County is excited to share that a portion of Wabash County has been nominated for Opportunity Zone designation, a federal program designed to encourage long-term private investment in communities.

If certified by the U.S. Department of the Treasury, the designation would take effect January 1, 2027, and remain in place through December 31, 2036. For our community, that could mean new business investment, redevelopment of existing properties, and more local jobs.

Opportunity Zones can make a community more competitive for development projects. If certified, the designation would strengthen Wabash County's ability to attract future development that brings new jobs and investment to our communities.

At Grow Wabash County, we are committed to creating an environment where businesses start, grow, and flourish. We'll share an update once a certification decision is made.

My Own Business Institute (MOBI) is a self-paced online entrepreneurship program developed by Santa Clara University. It walks you through the essentials of starting a business, from testing your idea to building a plan. In Wabash County, you can take it at no cost through the Adult Education Center.

Grow Wabash County connects local entrepreneurs to programs like this because a good idea shouldn't stall out at "where do I even start?"
