Thank you to Katey and Aubrey Till from BABE of Wabash County for being our program at lunch today. Katey (their executive director) spoke of BABE’s reading program.

BABE’s 3 goals are “to promote good health, education, and relationships with families in Wabash County who have children between the ages of pregnancy and five-years-old.”

Under their reading program, they identify a child’s reading level and then the best books for them to begin reading to progress to high reading levels. The program has been running for about a year now, during which 113 kids have taken the assessment.

We don’t quite have the official final total, but what we can share is that last night’s Kiwanis Yearly Trivia Event was overwhelmingly successful. What started out as a small idea this past winter turned into a nearly 100 people at the Wabash Elks Lodge to fundraise for Riley Children's Foundation.

Thank you to our five committee members for pulling this off collectively. Thank you to our sponsors (Beacon Credit Union and Metz Phillipy Real Estate) for going above and beyond with your support. Thank you to Dicky’s Express Car Wash, the Old Kettle Saloon, and McScoopz Ice Cream for providing the prizes for our winning team.

Finally, congratulations to the winning team of Janna Mestan, Mandy Shull, Mike Barnett, and Conrad and Diane Morris! Thank you to everyone who donated and participated Friday night.

100-percent of the funds that came in for KYTE NYTE will go directly to Riley. See you next year!

🧡 RECORD BREAKER ALERT 🧡

Freshman Teresina Cordes gave an outstanding performance this morning at the Mississinewa Invitational.

Teresina, affectionately known as Tesa, set the Mississinewa course record AND set a new Wabash school record with a time of 19:29.9!

Teresina shattered the previous school record of 20:22.5, originally set by Katherine Wilhelm.

Cordes not only accomplish this, but had done so with an almost 2 minute lead on her competition. Here soon, we’ll have some more Apaches flying in at those speeds!

Congratulations, Teresina! 🏃🏽‍♀️💪🏼🧡
