The largest clock and watch museum on the west coast. It resides on the grounds of the Vista Antique Members come from the USA and Canada.

National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors (NAWCC) Chapter 180-Friends of the West Coast Clock & Watch Museum was formed to grow and maintain WCCWM. They provide the financial and volunteer support that brings this unique and amazing museum to the public.

Clock Class: Week 4!

The learning continues at the West Coast Clock & Watch Museum! Our clock class students are diving deeper into the art of horology as they continue working on broaching, installing bushings, and spring winding.

These essential skills require patience, precision, and a steady hand. From improving worn pivot holes to fitting bushings and learning to safely handle clock springs, our students are gaining valuable hands-on experience restoring and maintaining mechanical timepieces.

Every week brings new challenges, new skills, and a deeper appreciation for the craftsmanship behind these incredible machines! ⚙️⏰

We’re proud to help preserve the art of traditional clock repair and pass these skills on to the next generation of horologists!

Our current Clock Class at the West Coast Clock and Watch Museum is underway, giving students a hands-on opportunity to learn the fascinating art of clock repair and restoration. Students are gaining practical experience while learning about clock movements, tools, cleaning, troubleshooting, and proper repair techniques—all while working alongside experienced clock enthusiasts and mentors. It’s exciting to see new skills developing and a passion for horology growing! More clock classes are coming in February, so if you’ve ever wanted to learn how clocks work or try your hand at repairing one, keep an eye out for registration information. We look forward to welcoming new students and continuing to share the timeless craft of clockmaking!

⚙️🕰️ When a Clock Becomes a Work of Art 🕰️⚙️

In the late 1800s and early 1900s, scroll saw enthusiasts could purchase paper patterns and clock movements from a variety of companies and create elaborate mechanical works of art right in their own workshops.

Every intricate piece of wood was cut by hand using foot-pedal-powered scroll saws—a labor of patience, precision, and incredible craftsmanship.

This remarkable example depicts a double walking-beam steam engine, and it’s much more than just a beautiful wooden sculpture. On the hour and half-hour, a musical movement comes to life, setting the entire mechanism in motion. 🎶⚙️ The walking beams move, the machinery comes alive, and this incredible piece becomes a miniature mechanical performance!

The clock movement was made by the Waterbury Clock Company circa 1909.

Imagine creating something this intricate one cut at a time—with nothing but a paper pattern, a foot-powered saw, and plenty of patience!
