🐾❤️ FOUR PUPPIES NEED FOSTER HOMES! ❤️🐾

These four precious Lab mix puppies are looking for committed foster families! 🙏

We need fosters who can commit to caring for them until they are fully vetted and adopted into their forever homes. Fostering gives these babies a safe place to grow, learn, and receive all the love they deserve while we prepare them for adoption 🏡🐶

If you can open your home to one of these sweet babies, please complete our foster application and send us a message once you’ve applied.

🐾 RESCUES: If you have space available for one or more of these puppies, please reach out to us as well. We would be incredibly grateful for the help 🙏❤️

Even if you cannot foster, PLEASE SHARE! One share could be what connects these babies with the foster or rescue they desperately need.

UPDATE: GOD IS SO GOOD 🙌
Nova is home resting, they did remove four other growths as well, and her medical expenses were completely covered 👼 Thank you all so very much for your kindness, donations, and prayers. Tracie is in tears of joy and thankfulness 🥹🙏👼💗

As many of you know, Tracie Swanson does so much for the animals and people in our community—probably far more than most people will ever truly realize ❤️

Over the years, Tracie has safely reunited hundreds of lost animals with their families, networked countless lost and found dogs, and spent more hours than anyone could possibly count using her own time to help animals and people throughout our community.

And when owners could not be found, Tracie has even opened her own home to many of those animals, made them part of her own family, and personally made sure they received the veterinary care they needed. She has taken responsibility for animals that had nowhere else to go simply because she could not turn her back on them.

She is constantly answering messages, sharing posts, helping families search, connecting people with resources, and doing whatever she can to get animals safely back where they belong.

So many families have gotten their beloved pets back because Tracie cared enough to keep looking, sharing, networking, and helping when she absolutely did not have to.

She asks for nothing in return. She simply does it because she genuinely cares.

And today, Tracie needs us.

Her own dog, Nova, has not been well for some time. This sweet girl has fought illness after illness, and now Tracie is facing the heartbreaking news that Nova has cancer.

Nova is Tracie’s world. She is not just her dog—she is her baby, her companion, her comfort, and such a huge part of her heart and her life. Watching Nova go through so much has already been incredibly hard on her, and now facing cancer is something no pet parent ever wants to hear.

Today, Nova is undergoing surgery at Hillcrest Animal Hospital with Dr. Beck to remove a large cancerous tumor from her side. At this point, they still do not know how far the cancer may have spread.

This is not only emotionally devastating for Tracie, but financially overwhelming as well. And the truth is, today’s surgery may only be the beginning. Depending on what is found, Nova may need additional treatment, follow-up care, medications, testing, or long-term medical support.

Nova’s surgery today is estimated to cost between $800–$1,200, with payment needed by around 5:00 PM today.

If Tracie has ever helped you find your animal, shared or networked a lost dog for you, helped someone you know, supported an animal in need, or simply made an impact on you in some way, please consider giving a little of that love back to her today.

Please help Tracie save her baby and get through this incredibly difficult time. Every contribution can help take some of the financial burden off her shoulders so she can focus on Nova, her recovery, and whatever treatment may come next.

Under Tracie Swanson Garza for Nova 🐾

Even $5, $10, or $20 can make an incredible difference when a community comes together 🙏🐾

We had originally started asking for help privately because we know Tracie would never want to feel like she was asking anyone for anything. But we also know how many of you love Tracie Swanson, how many lives she has touched, and how many people know just how beautiful her heart truly is.

After talking with a few friends, we really believe she would understand why we are sharing this publicly now. There are simply too many people in this community who love her, appreciate her, and would want the opportunity to be there for her the way she has been there for so many others.

Tracie is truly a wonderful person and so deserving of this help. She has spent countless hours of her own life helping everyone else’s animals, and she has personally carried the emotional and financial responsibility of animals that had no one else.

Now one of her own babies—the one who means the absolute world to her—needs that same compassion returned to her.

And if you cannot help financially, please take a moment to pray for Tracie and Nova today. Pray for Dr. Beck and the veterinary team, that Nova’s surgery goes smoothly, that they are able to remove the cancer, that it has not spread extensively, and that Nova has the strength to continue fighting through whatever comes next 🙏❤️

Tracie has carried so much for so many people and animals over the years. Today, we are asking our community to help carry a little of that weight for her.

Please help her get through this difficult time and give Nova every chance possible to keep fighting.

We love you, Tracie Swanson ❤️
You have poured so much love into this community, and we hope today you can feel just how much love this community has for you in return 🙏🐾

🚨🐾 WISHLIST WEDNESDAY — WE ARE DOWN TO ONE BAG OF DOG FOOD 🐾🚨

We really need your help this week 🙏

We are officially down to ONE BAG of hard dog food, and that one bag still has to stretch between the babies here at the rescue while we also need to drop food off to a few of our foster families caring for dogs in their homes.

We simply do not have enough to make it through another week without help 🥺

So many babies depend on us every single day for their meals, clean kennels, warm blankets, medical care, and all of the little things that make them feel safe and loved.

Along with food, we would also appreciate help with:

🐾 Blankets
🐾 Floor cleaner/disinfectant for the indoor kennel
🐾 Treats
🐾 Toys

These things may seem small, but to our rescue babies, they mean everything.

A soft blanket gives a scared dog somewhere comfortable to curl up at night. A clean kennel keeps them healthy and safe. And something as simple as a treat or toy can completely change their day ❤️

Recently, we went almost two weeks without treats until an anonymous angel sent us a canister in the mail 👼

The excitement when they realized they were getting treats again is unbelievable 🥹 Their tails were wagging, they were smiling, bouncing around and waiting so patiently for their turn.

Those moments remind us that these babies truly appreciate every little thing they receive.

Right now though, DRY DOGFOOD IS OUR MOST URGENT NEED.

We have one bag left.
We have foster homes that still need food.
And we have many hungry bellies depending on us tomorrow, the next day, and every day after that 💔

If several people could help with even one bag of food, it would take such a huge weight off of us this week.

Even if you cannot purchase a full bag, $5, $10, or $20 adds up quickly when our community comes together 🙏

Every bag.
Every blanket.
Every bottle of cleaner.
Every toy.

Every dollar.

It all matters. ❤️🐾

Thank you for continuing to stand beside Paws4Christ Animal Rescue and helping us keep these babies fed, comfortable, clean, and loved.

We could not continue doing this without you 🙏❤️

Also 👉 If anyone is available to help us steam spray the walls and panels inside the indoor kennel this weekend, please send us a message. It takes about 20ish minutes per pen and the machine clears all of the dust and makes everything look like new. We do this once a week because dust accumulates very quickly. We have a few projects going on the next few days and would appreciate any help 🙏

🐾❤️ A SWEET LITTLE REUNION — GOD KNEW EXACTLY WHERE POPPY NEEDED TO BE ❤️🐾

Last week, while my daughter was in town, she spotted this little pup running through traffic. She was able to get her safely out of the roadway and bring her home with us.

We posted her on our feed and mentioned her in another post, praying someone would recognize her.

The very next day, a family reached out to us. They explained that they had recently found this same little girl at Riverside Park and had taken her home. Sadly, when they let her outside, she slipped away from them.

The family was absolutely heartbroken 💔

After sharing pictures back and forth and comparing everything, we were able to confirm that this was indeed the same little pup they had been searching for.

While she was with us, we were able to get her microchipped and dewormed. She had a blast with the littles for a couple of days here, and then we had the opportunity to meet this sweet family in person.

We are so happy to say that she is now safely back home with them 🏡🐶 She will also be getting spayed soon, which makes us even happier knowing she is on her way to a safer and healthier future.

Sometimes rescue does not mean an animal stays with us. Sometimes God simply places us in the right place at the right time to protect them, care for them for a little while, and help guide them back where they belong 🙏❤️

Thank you to this family for taking her in when they originally found her, loving her, and continuing to look for her after she escaped. Knowing how happy their daughter was to have her back made every bit of it worth it.

And thank you to everyone who shares our posts and helps us get these babies safely where they need to be. Every share truly matters.

Another little life safe. Another family reunited. And another reminder that God is always working, even in the smallest moments ❤️🐾

🐾❤️ HAPPY NATIONAL DOG DAY + WISHLIST WEDNESDAY! ❤️🐾

Today is National Dog Day, a day created to celebrate ALL dogs—the beloved family pets curled up on our couches, the working dogs who serve beside people every day, and especially the homeless, abandoned, neglected, and abused dogs still waiting for someone to choose them.

For us in rescue, National Dog Day is also a reminder of why we keep going.

Every dog deserves safety…
Every dog deserves food…
Every dog deserves medical care…
Every dog deserves to know what it feels like to be loved…

And every dog deserves a chance to finally belong 🐶❤️

Some of the greatest gifts you can give a rescue dog don’t cost anything at all—FOSTER. ADOPT. SHARE. Opening your home to foster creates space for another dog to be saved, and adoption gives one of these babies the forever family they have been waiting for.

With our $1,260 kennel payment, plus the electricity bill $500 this month, recent medical bills, medications, cleaning supplies, and the everyday cost of caring for so many animals, we simply cannot make it from week to week without your help.

Right now, hard dog food is one of our biggest needs. Even a few dollars can help us purchase another bag or two and carry us through another few days. The furkids are always appreciative of toys, treats and blankets as well.

You never have to give a large amount to make a difference. $2, $5, $10—or choosing even ONE item from one of our wishlists—helps more than you know. Wishlist items can be shipped directly to the rescue, taking one more expense off our shoulders ❤️🐾

💔 HERE SHE IS AGAIN TONIGHT AT THE TELFERNER STORE… STILL WAITING 💔

This sweet girl is still out there—scared, confused, alone, and dangerously close to a busy highway.

Tonight, she wants so badly to trust. She comes a little closer. She watches me. She even gives the sweetest little smile. But then fear takes over again and she backs away 😢

Whatever she has been through has taught her to be unsure of people. And now we have learned even more about her story.

We were told she had puppies. Several of them have already been found and taken, and there may still be two puppies at a nearby business, although we have not been able to confirm that yet.

So not only is this girl out here trying to survive—she is also a momma who has watched her babies disappear one by one 💔

We do not know if she is good with dogs, cats, children, or even people yet. We don’t know her age, her medical history, where she came from, or what happened to her.

What we DO know is this:

She is scared…
She is unsure…
She is alone…
And she needs to be rescued before she is hit by a vehicle.

Just last week, Grace was in this same area, only a short distance up the road. She was struck by a vehicle and died there 💔

We cannot bear the thought of watching another innocent life meet the same fate.

These dogs don’t understand that someone decided they didn’t want them anymore.

They wait 😣

They search 😤

They watch vehicles go by 😥

They stay near the place they were left because somewhere in their innocent minds, they still believe their person might come back 😡

And sometimes… they wait until the day they die 💔

We are begging for someone to help us make sure that does not become this girl’s story.

We are completely beyond capacity. Our home, foster homes, and indoor kennel are full. We are caring for medical cases, puppies, seniors who are struggling, dogs needing medications, appointments, cleaning, feeding, exercise, rehabilitation, and individual attention every single day.

We are so few people caring for so many lives, and we truly cannot safely bring another dog into our care without help.

🙏 SHE DESPERATELY NEED:

🐾 An experienced, committed foster family
🐾 A rescue with available space
🐾 Help confirming and securing any puppies that may still be nearby
🐾 SHARES—LOTS AND LOTS OF SHARES

Have you fostered through a rescue or shelter before?

She needs someone who understands decompression, and is comfortable giving a frightened doggie time, space, structure, patience, and a safe place to open up.

She may need days—or longer—before we truly know who she is. She does not need someone expecting an instantly perfect dog.

She needs someone willing to say:

“You don’t have to trust me today. I’ll give you the time you need.”

👉She needs a calm home
👉She needs an understanding heart
👉She needs a soft hand
👉She needs patience

Even late at night, she has been sitting outside in this Texas heat, panting and drooling, wanting to come closer but still too afraid to completely trust 💔

VICTORIA COUNTY, SHE NEEDS OUR HELP

Please share her face with your family, friends, coworkers, neighbors, churches, foster contacts, and rescue connections.

We beg for fosters constantly, and many times when no one steps forward, we somehow make room and bring another one home anyway.

But with completely open and honest hearts, we have to say that we cannot do that this time. We do not have the space, manpower, or hours left in the day without taking away from the many animals already depending on us. Even if we could make space near the front of the indoor kennel where we store supplies, it wouldn’t be a full size kennel, and we don’t have the right size panel/gate for that, or funds to purchase one. We are already crowded and with rotations into the house, and play yards along with everyday operations, we are stretched in so many directions.

But we also cannot look into this girl’s eyes and pretend she isn’t there 🥺

🙏 PLEASE HELP US FIND HER A SAFE PLACE BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE

If you have rescue-fostering experience and can seriously commit to helping her decompress safely in your home, if your rescue has available space, or if you can help toward the cost of getting her safely off the streets and vetted, please message us.

And if you cannot foster, please SHARE HER.

One share could reach the person she has been waiting for.

She deserves better than another night beside this highway 💔🐾

🚨 FOSTER FAMILY NEEDED FOR PINE 🚨

Pine is an almost 6-month-old puppy who urgently needs a foster home. She was adopted from Victoria County Animal Services (VCAS) on August 4th. Her family hoped she would settle in and become a permanent part of their home, but unfortunately she is not doing well in a home with young children.

VCAS is unable to take Pine back, so her family is now trying to find a safe foster option for her ASAP. We are hoping someone can step up before this situation becomes even more urgent.

Pine does very well with adults and other animals, but she is looking for a foster home without young children where she can decompress, be evaluated, and get the structure, patience, and guidance she needs.

We also want everyone to remember that Pine is still very much a puppy. At almost 6 months old, she has puppy energy and is still learning appropriate boundaries and manners. Jumping, pawing, mouthing, getting overly excited during play, or playing too rough can sometimes be misunderstood as aggression—especially around young children who may become startled or react quickly.

That does not mean concerning behavior should ever be ignored, but it does mean Pine needs someone experienced and willing to work with her through proper training, consistent attention, positive redirection, structure, and appropriate outlets for her puppy energy. She is still learning what is expected of her and needs the right environment to help her succeed.

Pine is also currently having some medical concerns. She has recently been vomiting, and worms have been noticed in her stool, so she will need veterinary care and treatment as well. We will drop off dewormer to the owners this week to get her started.

She will be 6 months old on September 1st and is currently scheduled to be spayed on September 21st, according to her owners.

This baby is still so young and deserves the chance to get healthy, feel safe, learn, and be placed in an environment that is best suited for her ❤️🐾

PINE NEEDS SOMEONE WILLING TO STEP UP AND GIVE HER A SAFE PLACE TO LAND.

FOSTER HOME NEEDED:
• No young children
• Comfortable and experienced with puppies
• Does well with other animals
• Willing to provide patience, structure, training, attention, and redirection
• Able to give her time to decompress and be properly evaluated

Please message us directly if you can foster Pine or submit a foster application here:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1Esaqks8hNiB0kf9NFPpSG3BAj5XZWmL5a4EaHq3riuI/viewform

Please do not comment that you can help without reaching out or applying. Comments saying someone can foster can make others believe Pine already has a safe placement when she does not, and that can prevent the person she truly needs from stepping forward.

🙏 PLEASE SHARE… Pine needs the right foster home to give this young puppy the opportunity to learn, heal, and succeed.

💔 WE ARE SO HEARTBROKEN TO SHARE THAT LITTLE BEAR IS NO LONGER WITH US 💔

Monday, Little Bear was kept stable throughout the day with heavy medication and around-the-clock care, but despite everything being done for him, his tiny body just wasn’t beginning to recover.

We desperately wanted him to survive. We wanted more time. We wanted so badly for all of the prayers, medications, treatments, and love surrounding this little baby to give him the strength he needed to turn that corner.

But through the evening, he began having multiple, very violent seizures again just minutes apart. They became increasingly difficult to control, and he was suffering. We could not bear to watch him endure another moment of pain.

These are some of the hardest moments in rescue. They cut so deeply, like a knife straight through your heart, because you know you have done everything you possibly can—and sometimes, despite every effort, love cannot make their little bodies stay.

God knew Little Bear needed peace. He needed rest. His tiny body had fought so incredibly hard, but he simply did not have the strength to keep fighting.

We loved him. We held him. We comforted him. And Brooke gave him something so precious during what turned out to be such a short life—a home where he knew love, comfort, safety, and kindness ❤️

And because of every single one of you who prayed for him, shared his story, checked on him, cried with us, and hoped alongside us, Little Bear was surrounded by love from more people than he could ever have known.

We also want to thank Patricia from the bottom of our hearts for giving Momma and her puppies this opportunity. Without her opening her heart to help them, this little family could still be outside, exposed to the heat, weather, and dangers of the elements. May God continue to bless you and your enormous heart for these babies 🙏🐾

We also want to thank Dr. Travis Schaar, Dr. Mallory Schaar and his incredible team for being so supportive, caring, and kind. There are many veterinarians, but Dr. Travis and his staff have gone above and beyond for us and these animals. We cannot thank you enough for always being available for emergencies, answering late-night phone calls, and showing such compassion and love. We appreciate and love you all more than words can say ❤️

We still do not know exactly what caused Little Bear to decline so suddenly and severely. One moment he was playing, eating, and acting like a puppy, and then everything changed.

As his condition progressed, Little Bear was experiencing several very serious symptoms at the same time—including an abnormally enlarged head, weakness in his hind legs, continuous crying and signs of pain, bloody diarrhea with parasites, and violent seizures that became extremely difficult to control. Taken together, these symptoms raised grave concern for a severe neurological condition affecting his brain and nervous system, along with significant gastrointestinal illness. One possible concern with an abnormally enlarged head and neurological symptoms in such a young puppy is hydrocephalus, an abnormal buildup of fluid within the brain, but without definitive testing we may never know exactly what took Little Bear from us.

His little body was fighting so much all at once 💔

But there is one thing we do know:

He is not hurting anymore 😭

There are no more seizures…
No more cries…
No more fear…
No more pain…

He is whole again ❤️

Little Bear, you may have been tiny, but you stirred up some very BIG hearts. People everywhere were praying for you and hoping with everything they had for a different ending.

We wish more than anything that you were still here 🥺

But instead, we trust that Jesus carried you home ✝️

You are healed now, little one. Run as fast as those little legs can carry you. Play without pain. Rest peacefully in the arms of the Lord until the day we see you again.

Run free, Little Bear 🐻🐾🌈
You were loved more than you will ever know.

We love you, baby. Until we meet again 💔

For anyone who has asked how they can help, Little Bear accumulated medical expenses from both clinics $800 during his emergency care, and we will also be having him cremated so that he can have a proper closure.

Donations are appreciated and can be made directly toward Paws4Christ Animal Rescue’s account for Little Bear by contacting:

💔 PLEASE STOP FOR A MOMENT AND PRAY FOR LITTLE BEAR 💔🙏🐾

Late last night, we received a call from Brooke that one of the tiny puppies we helped pull from underneath the building in Nursery last week was suddenly not acting like himself.

Just a short time earlier, he had been running around, playing with his siblings and eating normally. Then, after they returned from a quick trip into town, he was having difficulty walking on his back legs, stumbling, and moaning as though he was in pain.

We immediately picked him up, and things quickly became much more frightening.

He began having seizures, severe weakness, and could barely walk without falling over. We contacted our veterinarian, Dr. Travis Schaar, who advised us on the emergency seizure medication and dosage to administer rectally. We stayed in contact with him several times throughout the night and into the early morning. He is such a compassionate and caring human for these babies 🫶

Around 3:30 AM, Little Bear finally seemed to be perking up and becoming more stable. We were hopeful we could keep him comfortable until Main Street Animal Hospital opened so Dr. Travis Schaar could examine him.

But around 5:00 AM, he began seizing again.

We gave another dose as instructed, but it only seemed to give him relief for about 45 minutes. His cries became louder, the seizures became more intense, and eventually by the time I made it into town; they were happening within about 10 minutes of one another.

VCA Victoria Animal Hospital was able to get him stabilized enough and provide some much-needed relief so that we could safely get him over to Main Street for further examination, diagnostics and treatment. They also very kindly gave our rescue a discount this morning, and we are incredibly grateful for the compassion they showed this tiny baby ❤️

Little Bear is now with Dr. Travis Schaar at Main Street Animal Hospital, where they are trying to determine what is causing this.

And I can tell you… in all my years of rescue, I am worried. So very worried 💔

I don’t know what the outcome will be 🥺

These babies are only about 3–4 weeks old and hadn’t even been named yet. When the hospital needed a name for his medical file, we quickly decided on Little Bear—and Little Bear it is for now 🐻🤎

He is such a tiny fighter 😢

Even after the amount of seizure medication he has received through us and at the clinics, he is still experiencing milder seizure activity. I have cared for so many babies over the years, but I have never personally witnessed anything quite like what this little guy has gone through since last night.

Right now, Patricia, Brooke, our rescue family and so many people in this community are pulling together and praying that this baby keeps fighting 🙏

We have already had an emergency bill this morning at VCA that the rescue covered up front.

What we don’t know yet is what Little Bear’s bill will be today—or what his medical needs may look like going forward.

We are asking our community for help.

🙏 If you are able to give even $1, $5, $10 or anything at all, please consider calling Main Street Animal Hospital directly and making a donation toward the Paws4Christ Animal Rescue account for Little Bear’s care. We already have a bill there that we need to catch up on, please help us so we don’t keep falling further behind.

We cannot leave Patricia to carry this burden alone. She opened space and took on this entire momma and her babies, and I gave her my word that we would help them with everything we possibly could. We meant that.

If Little Bear pulls through this and can safely be released, I will foster him personally until he is healthy and strong enough to be reunited with his siblings, who are already missing their little brother 💔🐾

And somehow, Little Bear wasn’t the only puppy who needed help within the past 24 hours.

Yesterday there was also a puppy, only about 3 months old, running around Sam Houston and going into traffic. After my daughter talked with people in the area, she learned that baby had apparently been roaming for several weeks.

Of course… she brought her home 🥹 Along with another one 🥺 Both will be going to another rescue 🙏

Then when Brooke called about Little Bear, she went and got him too so we could get him here as quickly as possible while I finished out feeding the rescues dinner and bedtime potty breaks.

I cannot begin to tell you how much I appreciate my daughter’s heart and the love she has for these babies. I truly don’t think I could have made it through the last 24 hours without her 🥹🫶🙏

And thank you, Brooke, for acting so quickly and recognizing that something was wrong with Little Bear. With puppies this small, minutes can matter.

👉 Please, wherever you are right now, stop for just a moment and say a prayer for Little Bear.

Pray for answers 🙌
Pray for his little body to keep fighting 🙌
Pray for Dr. Schaar and everyone caring for him 🙌
And pray that we get to bring this little boy home well🙏💔🐻

It has been an incredibly emotional night and morning 💔

Keep fighting, Little Bear. You’ve got an entire community fighting and praying right alongside you🙏🐾💙
