I would like to take a minute to brag on ourselves.

A year ago we had 3 active members. Today we have 11 members with 9 in the area and 5 living in town.

The Chief and I cannot thank those that have signed up and answer the call day or night enough.

I am proud to be able to tell people about our town, our department, and our members.

It is better to have too much help than too little because you never know the actual nature of the call until you arrive. Easy to send folks back to the station, harder to get folks to the scene when you don’t have enough.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you all for that you do for our community and to those who might want to join, stop by city hall, message this page, message me, or come by the station.

Also come see us on Halloween for candy!

THIS STRUCTURE WAS RECENTLY TORN DOWN.

From another page posted several years ago. Who knows this home?

It’s amazing how there is a cycle to our wonderful history. After posting the current photo of this property during my recent visit to Cripple Creek and Victor, a family came into the Heritage Center and later emailed this photo (last photo) to them with the following information.

“We know that the house was occupied by my great grandparents John J Doyle and his wife Alicia (Alice) who probably built it.. My grandmother was Aileen Doyle Trevorrow and lived there as a child and probably as an adult with her daughter Jean Trevorrow.”
