Whew, what a week!
We had a blast last week, and we can't thank you all enough for sharing your kids and teens with us:)

❗️Extra thanks to:
• Michele, Dylan, Lunchboz Studios, Jessica, Stevie, and Sophia for sharing your knowledge, skills, and patience
• Nova, Shayla, Adeline, Eleanor, Cambriah, and Lucy for wrangling - I know it was crazy hot and you all kept your cool
• My rocks Kaitee and Martha - I could never and would never want to do this without you.
• Our neighbors for being flexible and willing to adjust their tuckpoint schedule
• My co-workers at the Coyote Twin for helping clean up and put things back together when I had nothing left

❗️Next up is a Messy Hands exhibit starting next week here at the First Dakota Coyote Gallery and then we will enter the art pieces into the Clay County Fair! So, If your artist(s) would like to be included in the exhibit and entered into the fair, pieces can be dropped off any time during open hours and left on the table just inside the gallery. Please make sure to mark the pieces with artist name, title of the piece, and a little bit about what they made.

❗️Ceramic pieces are still going through the firing process, and may take a little longer. I will be sure to send an email when they are ready. Once finished, they will be on display in the exhibit - please take any pieces with you when you visit the exhibit if you do not wish them to be entered into the fair.

** If you are out of town or cannot make it during the show to pick up ceramic pieces, please email Ally and let her know how best to get pieces to you. We can ship out of town but prefer not to, and may request compesation for shipping and packaging. **

Join us for the book talk and signing with photographer and author Benita VanWinkle at the Coyote Twin & Gallery downtown - talk at 7p with reception and signing to follow.

Tickets (and books!) can be purchased in advance at coyotetwin.com. Event tickets are $35. Advance purchase of Benita’s book is $75 and includes a $10 discount on event ticket.

Open call for artists! From our friends in Sioux Falls:

The Champion Foundation is inviting artists to submit original artwork for The Art of Music, a one-night charity event taking place in Sioux Falls on September 17.

THEME: “Concert Posters Reimagined”
Artists are invited to create original artwork inspired by concert posters —Submissions must reinterpret a concert of the artists choice OR one of the iconic Sioux Falls concerts listed on the website for inspiration.

Eligible Artwork
Original artwork only
Any medium that can be displayed as a poster (digital, illustration, painting, collage, mixed media, etc.)
Must be formatted to a standard poster ratio (e.g., 11×17 or 18×24)

Submission Guidelines:
Up to 3 submissions per artist
No submission fee
Deadline: Monday, August 17 at 11:59 PM CT

Day Three & Four of Messy Hands 🙌 So much art! 🥰🫟🎨🖌️ Printing, Painting, Ceramics, and Comics. We’re creating characters, painting panels, learning different ways to print and use clay, and omg so much more! We’re grateful to the school lunch ladies for keeping us fed and to the Coyote Twin for sharing their bathrooms to wash our messy hands so many times throughout our messy days:):)

Day Two of Messy Hands! Phew it was a hot one today but the Teens are super cool over at Grouchy Hyena! With a print shop upstairs and a ceramic studio downstairs, the Teens are fully immersed in their art and, as you can see, are creating beautiful works! (featuring photos from Day One & Two)
