We’ve been having fun & meeting new people at our recent Vermillion NEXT events!

If you want to see what it’s all about, mark your calendars for tomorrow! We’ll meet at the Vermillion Public Library at 5:00 and take a tour of their resources, then at 6:00 we’ll head over to Varsity Pub for a happy hour. Join at both locations or just one, and come and go as you please— we hope to see you there!

We had so much fun at our Third Thursday Social last week, that we stuck around and turned it into a night of Carey’s trivia. It was great to hang out with new & familiar faces! 🍻

If you want to join in on the fun, join us at El Nopal tomorrow from 12-1! Our lunches are informal and meant for socializing and getting to know each other. 🌮🌯

We had so much to celebrate at this year’s VCDC Annual Celebration & Awards Banquet 🎉

Congratulations to Cori Lynn for the incredibly well-deserved honor of Vermillion NEXT Young Professional of the Year. 🏆 Cori is an involved member of the community, the Chair of Vermillion NEXT, and an inspiration to so many of us!

Congratulations to all of last night’s award recipients! We love celebrating the successes of our amazing community.

Our Third Thursday Social at XIX Brewing Company was the perfect way to celebrate the warm weather. We learned the ins and outs of how their beers are brewed, and then we enjoyed food, drinks, and conversation on the patio. ☀️🍻

First up in our ‘Vermillion NEXT Member Spotlight’ series is Katey Ulrich, Co-Owner of XIX Brewing Company and Director of Admissions & Marketing at University of South Dakota Knudson School of Law.

Katey Ann has been an active member of Vermillion NEXT for the past few years, and has been a cornerstone of the Vermillion community through her work at XIX and USD. We love seeing our young professionals grow, develop, and make lifelong friends here in Vermillion.

Join us at XIX Brewing Company this Thursday from 5:00-7:00pm (note: this is an updated time from a previous post). At 5:00 we’ll tour the back room and see how the beer is brewed, and then we’ll hang out and socialize afterwards. 🍻

Vermillion has been named Best Small Town Arts Scene (for the second year in a row), and has been named Community of the Year by the South Dakota Governor's Office of Economic Development.

Our final spotlight in our “Meet the Team” series is our fearless leader: Cori Lynn!

This is Cori’s second year as Steering Committee Chair, and she continues to bring great ideas, energy, and fun to Vermillion NEXT. She’s a big Yote fan and loves being involved in the Vermillion community.

You can find Cori at Vermillion NEXT events, reading a good mystery book, hanging out with her dogs and cat, or enjoying the outdoors.

Everyone give a warm welcome to the newest member of our Steering Committee: Christian Skunk!

Christian is law student at USD Knudson School of Law, and a very active member of the community. You can find him chatting with friends, working out, or on a side-quest (like being interviewed for a podcast, speaking on panels at the South Dakota State Capitol, etc.).

Though I may not officially be a townie, I’d like to think I’m one of Vermillion’s biggest fans. You can find me at various book clubs, walking my dog by the river, cheering on the Yotes, or talking about Taylor Swift and Harry Styles.
