Thursdays on the Platz 2026 was a huge success! Our steering committee poured lots of cups of ambition by volunteering at the beer tent. 🍻 Thank you to the volunteers, sponsors, musicians, vendors, attendees, and everyone who made this summer so great!

Three members of the Board for Vermillion NEXT joined the Vermillion Rotary club on July 29, 2026. Our thanks to Steering Committee Chair Cori Hup, Secretary Hailey Freidel, and Outreach Lead Jessica Winterringer. The program included a discussion of the purpose of the organization and many of the group's projects in the community. We’re spotlighting Hanna DeLange this week! 🧘🏻‍♀️

Hanna previously served as Chair of the Vermillion NEXT Steering Committee, and now she works for the VCDC as the Communications and Tourism Manager (full circle moment)! Hanna also runs the business “Yoga With Hanna,” and we’re partnering up with her for this week’s Third Thursday Social!

Thursdays on the Platz is so back!

Spend your summer evenings in historic downtown Vermillion with live music, great food, cold drinks, and family-friendly fun every Thursday night.

Starting July 16, the Platz comes alive with a different local band each week. This year's lineup:

🎶 July 30: Wildcard Band
🎶 August 6: Jetley Park
🎶 August 20: Fine Mess
🎶 August 27: Bluff Ridge Band

We’ve been having fun & meeting new people at our recent Vermillion NEXT events!

If you want to see what it’s all about, mark your calendars for tomorrow! We’ll meet at the Vermillion Public Library at 5:00 and take a tour of their resources, then at 6:00 we’ll head over to Varsity Pub for a happy hour. Join at both locations or just one, and come and go as you please— we hope to see you there!

We had so much fun at our Third Thursday Social last week, that we stuck around and turned it into a night of Carey’s trivia. It was great to hang out with new & familiar faces! 🍻

If you want to join in on the fun, join us at El Nopal tomorrow from 12-1! Our lunches are informal and meant for socializing and getting to know each other. 🌮🌯

Congratulations to Cori Lynn for the incredibly well-deserved honor of Vermillion NEXT Young Professional of the Year. 🏆 Cori is an involved member of the community, the Chair of Vermillion NEXT, and an inspiration to so many of us!
