This year, the Vadnais Heights Community Action Network and the Freedom Day Festival were honored to receive a Minnesota Legacy Festivals Grant!

This grant will help ensure the sustainability of the Freedom Day Festival for the next two years, allowing us to continue celebrating our community, culture, and history while creating meaningful experiences for families and neighbors.

We are deeply grateful to the Minnesota Legacy Festivals Grant program for investing in our community and helping us preserve and celebrate Juneteenth in the Northeast region of the Twin Cities.

A big thank you to all of our amazing sponsors for supporting the 2026 Freedom Day Festival!

Because of your generosity, we welcomed more than 800 attendees, served over 700 free meals, and brought our community together for a day of family fun, connection, and learning about Black history in Minnesota.

Together, we also created a community art mural that will be unveiled later this year. Stay tuned!

We are truly grateful for your partnership and support. Thank you for helping make this year's festival a success—we can't wait to celebrate with you again next year!
