TU Exchange

TU Exchange With freshmen not allowed to have cars on campus and with a 40-minute round trip to Walmart, we thought there would be a need for this kind of service.

Our goal is to bring products to the lives of students and members of the Upland community through a fast, easy website, as well as bring publicity to the entrepreneurs of Upland. Originally, TU Exchange was marketed as TU Marketplace, an e commerce website for Taylor students to purchase Walmart products and have them delivered to their dorms. The website has been under this operation for the pas

t few years, but it was never able to gain a sustained interest from students, who largely view group trips to Wal-mart as social events. With new co-project managers and a new purpose this school year, the TU Marketplace needed some drastic remodeling. Instead of focusing on providing Walmart products, we wanted to use our e commerce site to offer students relevant products and services while promoting entrepreneurship on our campus. The result was the Taylor-Upland Exchange.
