Chelsea Kiwanis Club

Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time.

As a Club we feel it is our role, to support and sustain all that “Chelsea” is, preserving its history, but also celebrating its diversity. We wear our “Chelsea Pride” on our sleeves, the same sleeves we roll up and serve. As a Club we give back, with projects like our Annual Track & Field Day in the Fall, and back drive around the holidays. We unite our community by working with groups like the C

helsea Public Library, La Colaborativa, and the Jordan Boys & Girls’ Club to support and fund local initiatives, and give back by participating in community “read-a-longs”, and fill the voids within our community to help families meet basic needs, as well as support mental health initiatives to make sure all families in our community are safe.

We enjoyed joining our friends from Police Department for National Night Out 2026 last night. We were able to do our part to celebrate the great city we love and engage with friends old & new. We gathered some great t-shirt entries for our Track & Field TShirt design and had a blast with the kids that make our City great.

The Chelsea Kiwanis Club’s 26th Annual Track & Field Day will take place on Saturday, September 19th. This event does much more than get hundreds of Chelsea kids moving and enjoying silliness, racing, games, friendly competition, and a good meal. It also funds four annual scholarships to college or trade school for graduating seniors at Chelsea High School, Chelsea Opportunity Academy, & Chelsea Virtual Learning Academy. Since 2000, with support from people like you, we have awarded more than $200,000 to nearly 200 Chelsea students to assist them in realizing their dreams. Will you help us do it again?
What makes our Track & Field Day so special?
• First, we engage Chelsea’s youths to design a T-shirt for the event, awarding a gift card to the winning designer.
• On race day, the kids run races in their event shirts, compete in a hula hoop contest, potato sack races, three-legged races, etc.
• Local businesses supply food and drinks for a healthy meal.
• Medals are awarded on a podium flanked by the sponsors’ names.
• The Chelsea Police Department’s ice cream truck distributes free treats.
• One boy and one girl will receive a backpack and a $200 gift card to purchase anything else they may need for school.

Though this annual event has won us civic awards, what we’re most proud of is that after a quarter century of hosting this event, young kids who were once Race Day participants became volunteers for the event in high school--and then became scholarship recipients as they pursue their dreams! This event creates positive change on multiple levels. When you support our Track & Field Day event as a financial sponsor, you can be certain that it is a worthy local cause.

The Chelsea Kiwanis Club once again seeks design submissions from Chelsea students in grades K-12 for T-shirts for its Annual Track & Field Day event, which will be held on Saturday, September 19th.

Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time. Chelsea Kiwanis would love a t-shirt design that reflects:

Fun
Caring and compassion
Sense of community
Dedication to children and families
Exercise and physical activity

Please submit any questions, as well as designs in color, by email to: [email protected]

A photo with a smart phone should be sufficient to submit for the contest, though we may need to scan the winning design for better results in printing the T-shirts.

We were so excited last night to celebrate our annual scholarship winners. It was a great night for the families as well as our club members who could attend. We’re very proud of all our scholarship recipients, and we wish him luck as they move forward in their careers, they are an inspiration to us all.

Had a lot of fun celebrating the East Boston Kiwanis‘ Interclub… Always glad to see our fellow Kiwanis members. This year we took this special photo with our East Boston mates of our Clubs being small but might together!
