Texas Best Choices Animal Rescue is a non profit animal rescue just one hour east of Dallas, TX. We

Texas Best Choices Animal Rescue was born out of a deep love and concern for animals. It began because of the huge need in a community with no city or county animal services. Many times puppies, pregnant dogs, and unwanted dogs are left at our entrance or tied to our gate overnight. They are all in need of a safe place to live and recover from the harsh life of being hungry and homeless or unwanted. Adoption is our ultimate goal for these precious animals and we have found homes for hundreds. There are many heartwarming stores of our furry friends finding the right home and the joy they bring to those that have adopted them. We believe in providing more than ust a place for pets to wait for their forever home, as we are a happy place where the dogs thrive as they wait. Happy Halloween Miracle! ! A dear friend of ours and a multiple adopter from Plano contacted us to say she was networking the 11 pups with another rescue. Thank you Sylvia G!
Cody’s Friends Rescue stepped up to take all 11 babies and care for them with all the medical attention they need and make sure they get a loving and furever home! We are beyond grateful. Sylvia even came to Quinlan to transport them. Sylvia-You are a miracle worker!!
We only had them for 24 hrs but they were severely dehydrated, covered in fleas and required a lot of time and TLC to get them fed and cared for. One has a broken tail. There are 2little white ones that are runts and will need special care. Thanks to Ally at our rescue, they were fed hourly to try to catch up on the lack of nutrition , bathed and loved! 11 puppies is overwhelming and without fosters in this area, these pups are blessed beyond measure for a future that is bright thanks to Cody’s Friends and their super foster!!! All of us at TBC say thank you!

Happy Halloween from Scooter! Our 13 yr old sweetheart…aka Ferocious Lion got a home!!! Our long time friend and past volunteer always loved Scooter and he now took him home! What a celebration with happy tears! Scooter was with us 10 years and now has a loving home!!! THANK YOU DAVID!

🎃🐾 Keep Halloween spooky—not scary—for your pets!

🍬 Keep candy out of paw’s reach. Chocolate and sugar-free treats containing xylitol can be dangerous. Stick to pet-safe treats!

🏠 Create a quiet, cozy space indoors, away from the front door and trick-or-treaters.

🏷️ Check that ID tags and microchip contact information are up to date in case your pet slips out.

👻 Costumes are optional! If your pet wears one, make sure it doesn’t restrict movement, vision, or breathing. Skip loose pieces, supervise them, and remove the outfit if they seem uncomfortable.

🕯️ Keep candles, cords, glow sticks, and small decorations out of reach.

☎️ If your pet gets into Halloween candy or something potentially toxic, contact your veterinarian or an emergency veterinary clinic right away.

URGENT PLEA FOR HELP ***3 Wk old PUPS WITH NO MOTHER

I just received a call from a young woman that has 11- 3 wk old pups. They were born to her Fathers dog but she will not nurse them. She was out of formula. I zelled her $$ for formula but she needs help to feed them. Can anyone help her?? It’s best to take 2pups but they will need to be hand fed. Pls call or text me for her #. They are in Quinlan.

KEEP YOUR PETS SAFE THIS HALLOWEEN!
🎃🐾 Halloween should be spooky—not dangerous for our pets! Keep tails wagging with these simple safety tips:
🍬 Keep candy out of reach. Chocolate and xylitol-sweetened treats can be dangerous—especially for dogs.
🚪 Create a quiet retreat. Keep pets in a comfortable room away from the front door during trick-or-treating.
🏷️ Check ID tags. Make sure your pet wears identification in case they slip outside.
👻 Put comfort before costumes. Skip outfits if your pet seems stressed. Costumes should never restrict breathing, vision, or movement, and pets wearing them need supervision.
🕯️ Keep decorations out of paw’s reach. Watch candles, cords, and small costume accessories.
If your pet gets into Halloween candy, contact your veterinarian right away.

PET OF THE WEEK
Meet Bingo, a stunning Yellow Labrador Retriever and Husky mix with a heart as big as his paws! This sweet boy was found alone on a back road, but with our kindness and patience, he blossomed into a trusting lovable companion. He is exceptionally beautiful with one blue eye!

At about 3 1/2 years old and 62 lbs, Bingo is house-trained, neutered, heartworm-negative, and up-to-date on all vaccinations. He’s amazing with other dogs, cats, and children. He is the total package!

We are hoping for a fairy tale ending for this handsome guy. He walks well on a leash and lives with Revel who can be a handful. He just wants to get along!

Urgent request!
Dixie is in need of a special home. Her Mom, our dear friend, Dotty is on hospice care after a long fight with breast cancer. Dotty and her sister Barb have adopted multiple dogs from us over the years, Dixie was adopted from us over 10 years ago and now in her time of need we want to help her and her Mom to find a new home for Dixie. Aunt Barb is a small dog hospice home for many Littles and unfortunately cannot take Dixie. She will however provide meds for Dixie for an extended period of time. Dixie is 12 years old and 40 lb , a beautiful White Lab mix with a thyroid and a heart condition that meds control. She is mobile and uses a dog door but needs a quiet home for her remaining years. She is dog friendly and very sweet and calm. Could you open your heart and home to this lovely girl who is about lose her Mom??? We would ALL be forever grateful.
